Catherine Villa is a place I keep returning to because I reall enjoy its simplicity, excellent location and above all its excellent value for money. It has a relaxed, no-frills feel that makes settling in easy, and the staff are genuinely one of its biggest strengths. Everyone I encountered was friendly, helpful, and professional, and check-in was refreshingly quick and straightforward.
The rooms and suites have a slightly dated character, but in a way that feels comfortable rather than tired. They are spacious and quiet, which made it easy to unwind after busy days in Lagos. Sitting by the pool was particularly pleasant, calm, laid-back, and perfect for switching off.
Another big plus is the location, especially being close to Bature Brewery, which made evenings very convenient. The bar staff were also incredibly accommodating and added to the relaxed atmosphere of the whole place.
Overall, Catherine Villa delivers exactly what it promises, a peaceful, well-located stay with lovely staff and a straightforward, easygoing charm. I would happily stay again.
My only issue is that you can only pay in Nigerian currency. Additionally, since there is a 'kitchen space' they could provide some moree introductory coffee sachets etc. But these 2 matters do not spoil the value of this place as far as I am concerned.

Undoubtedly this hotel's main attributes are its location (proxinity to the unmissable Bature Brewery!) and its affordability. Whilst the bedrooms are a little 'idiosynchratic', I really liked the hotel as a whole and the staff were SO helpful and accommodating - especially with the bar facilities when it mattered. The staff are probably the friendliest I have found anywhere on VI. But its the price for what you get that makes me recommend the hotel and the location cant't be beaten.
There is a 'kitchen' area in the bedrooms but no real amenities are left in terms of utensils, cups/glasses or consumables like water or coffee - especially if the room is booked for 2 people. But these are small complaints compared to the great value that you get when staying here.
