Staff reacted to our comments, the defects in the first room, and moved us to a new room. They also spoke good Englisha and some German too. They tried, but could use more guidance to really bring a good Customer service.
The Room Mobile Key was not sent, despite me writing 3 messages to Hotel. We had no Korean phone, so I asked for it to be sent by eMail.
When we arrived at the location, worried we could not get in, we found "by accident" on the Reception Counter OUR Room key AND Password - in theory anyone could have got into the room before and after us!!!
There were 3 defects in the first room (broken shutters, broken table, hinge on cupboard was broken).

It was roomy with some working facilities. Walking distance to Fish market and about 17k won taxi fare to reach Mt Seorak. You could see Abai Village right across the waters.
There was a CU at L1 which we frequent a lot.
I call this a 'halfway house', there was always a BUT....
There was a stove, BUT you are not allowed to cook.
There was a microwave, BUT I have to buy my own plate to heat up leftovers.
There was a washer, BUT no racks to dry your clothes. I read in the reply that one could ask for a rack and so I did. They brought me three more hangers instead. So no, they did not have a rack.

Convenient location and clean
Check in instructions translated to Korean was not clear. Didn’t know that no one would be there at the hotel to greet nor explain parking situation. Had to have a Korean phone but finally able to figure out that we could use What’s App to communicate.

Hotel room looked nice, modern and was clean but... (see the next section)
The view from the balcony was also beautiful (nice to watch the sunsets!).
We were excited to book a room with futons instead of beds as we enjoyed sleeping in such accomodations in Japan, however, futons in this hotel were of a very low quality. It felt like sleeping on the floor without any futon. Adding an extra layer (a blanket) helped a little bit but still,we couldn't have a good night sleep.
Moreover, it seemed that the floor heating was on (in June) which didn't help to sleep better either.
It was also dissapointing to find no furniture in the balcony when it had such a great view.
Lastly,this hotel pre-warns that you need to receive room key info via sms as check-in is automated (without personnel) and we agreed upfront that they will be able to send us info to a foreign mobile ph nr via whatsapp which didn't happen,so we called the hotel right before arrival and then they sent the info via whatsapp. When we arrived, we did find two employees at the reception who had to help us with the check-in as their automated system was not properly working (our reservation couldn't be found). We would advise to drop this automated system (at least for foreign tourists) as it makes zero sense.
