Highlights of this Boho Dream; Electrical Vehicle-EV Charger, 510 sf, 1 Bedroom King/1 Bath with Queen sleeper sofa, kitchen, F/S fridge, washer/dryer, POOL, and less than 1 mile from hoppin’ Historic Downtown Gilbert! Luxuries of this space include a super comfy Tuft & Needle King mattress, walk-in shower, Air Fryer Convection Oven, Keurig Coffee Machine (pods, creamer, teas included) Microwave, Work Desk, Charcuterie Board, barcart, TV in the LR & BR, enormous patio, grassy lawn & a large pool. Mid-Century Modern & Boho charm galore! The space This rental has been a dream of ours for many, many years and has now come true! We have pulled out all the stops to make your stay with us a great adventure or a restful escape!!! Mark and I love a Stacation and one of our favorite things to do is to create a charcuterie board. You will find a beautiful board, knives and a cookbook to whet your appetite for romantic or fun appetizers. You will also find everything that you need for a one night stay or an extended vacation. The cozy jewel is outfitted with a stacked washer/dryer, full sized refrigerator, 2 TVs, Microwave and Convection Oven. I love kitchen gadgets so expect to find almost everything you need in the kitchen. There is also a desk and chair if you have to set aside time to work during your stay. The enormous patio leads to a newly renovated sparkling pool (not HEATED November - March) and grassy backyard surrounded by towering pine trees. It's more like a forest adventure than being in the middle of the desert! Enjoying your breakfast, lunch or dinner on the patio is lovely with all the birdsong and dragonflies all around. You are welcome to enjoy the fresh grapefruit and pomegranates from our trees when in season! We have a 36 inch Blackstone Griddle that makes wonderful steaks, burgers, chicken, pancakes, hash browns, grilled veggies and all things grilled! You are welcome to use it throughout your stay. The Desert Jewel is a special and magical place. We’ll have everything that you need to make your stay an incredible memory - we can’t wait to meet you! PLEAE READ: No wild parties are tolerated. The police will be called to evict guests who abuse this policy. Owners live on property.

My now husband and I just stayed here for a couple nights while we got married in Queen Creek. It was a beautiful spot that felt very private and luxurious! We will definitely be keeping this spot in mind for our next trips to the area :)

Can not say enough! We got in at almost midnight and stayed 2 nigjts total.
The hosts had lamps candles amd music playing upon our arrival!
Small and cozy, very clean and decorated very stylish. They ensure you have privacy and everlthing you could need. I only wish the weather had been nices so we could have enjoyed the beautiful pool.
Price very reasonable and priced less than many hotels, plus much cozier and private. If we visit the area again we would not hesitate to look the Jewel up again. Actually was wondering if they had a monthly rate:)

J’Anne was so welcoming when we arrived and helpful too. The place is smaller than we expected and with many pieces of luggage/bags since the two of us have been traveling for a month, we really needed to make some décor adjustments, moving out lots of decorative pillows and arranging other items to clear some surface space. Desert Jewel is colorful and eclectic! Mark was also generous in sharing his woodworking projects. The outside space is lovely and we enjoyed eating grapefruits off the tree. We didn’t realize that the kitchenette was not equipped with a stove/oven range. It does have a full size refrigerator, coffee maker, and some alternative ways for cooking (microwave/outdoor grill), but we ended up eating out mostly, which in this area is not a problem! Based on that, we would recommend the place for shorter stays if a full kitchen is important. Shower was great, as was the heated toilet seat! We would suggest updating the bedroom rug and towels.The location offered us easy access to the foodie/heritage center of town, as well as, the major roads for trips around the area.

The property was very nice to stay at! Mark and Julianne were very gracious host. Travel around town and vicinity was easy. Black bear diner was an excellent choice for breakfast. Would definitely return for another stay, (just stay longer next time)! Well worth the wait to go there!

Property was a great getaway. Well appointed, comfortable, and relaxing. Communication with the property owners was fantastic. Very accommodating. The location was in a great spot for local spots. A true gem. Would highly recommend.

Enjoyed our time in staying at Desert Jewel. Place centrally located in quiet neighborhood. Owners friendly & great communication. Attended a wedding, went to Olive Mill, Desert Botanical Garden & Scottsdale to name a few…Lucked out on weather!

Trying vrbo was the best ever! We were so lucky to find Dessert Jewel in Gilbert. We were definitely spoiled by J’Anne and Mark. They are amazing hosts! The place is so elegant and put together very thoughtful, the pool is so clean too and we had an amazing stay! The only unfortunate thing is that we couldn’t stay longer. Highly suggested, I’ll share with all my friends and family for sure.

The place so so nice and clean and perfect! Decorated to perfection! Not a detail was missed. If you forgot anything j’anne has it there for you! You should Make this our first choice when staying in Gilbert cuz it is now my favorite. Also make sure to get breakfast at the broken yolk cafe !

There’s no other way to put it, this place is just wonderful.
Beautiful pool and beautiful interior! The place was 5 minutes from my parents and extremely close to everything we wanted to do. It was stocked with towels, toothbrushes, and really anything else we’d need. We only shopped for food while we were there.

Mark and J’Anne are awesome hosts, and their cute spot was perfect! Loved the pool, the decor inside the space, and best of all the thoughtfulness of the hosts. We were provided extra toothbrushes, plenty of coffee and creamer, they even had chilled beers waiting for us. How great is that?!!
This little gem is technically a mother in law suite, but the place is very private for both sound and space. As J’Anne put it, it’s a benefit of having solid block walls! We felt completely safe and secure the entire stay. Would definitely recommend to others and will be returning!

Rental is great, cozy, comfy and perfect. When walking to the unit i could hear music from the neighbors yard but once inside its nice and quiet.
King size bed, awesome shower and the couch futon is pretty nice.
Add the pool and covered patio and furniture and its a perfect get away.

This place exceeded our expectations! I cannot say enough good things about this beautiful VRBO! Mark and J'Anne were amazing hosts. Lots of fun stories with them.
The place was very well decorated and was stocked to the brim with everything you could ever need. The pool was crystal clear clean and perfect temperature. My husband and I had such a fun relaxing time. This was by far the best VRBO we have ever stayed in very cozy and relaxing! Otis and Shaggy (dog and cat) were a bonus. I loved how Shaggy would come out in the AM and visit when I was having coffee on the patio.

This was our first visit to the beautiful state of AZ. The desert jewel exceeded our expectations!!! Upon arrival, Mark & J’Anne greeted us with warmth while walking us around the property. The location was perfect as we enjoyed the restaurants close to the jewel. Did not disappoint…highlights include visiting Goldfield Rec Park where we hiked along the Salt River and witnessed WILD HORSES in their natural habitat! We relaxed by the wonderful pool, having the backyard to ourselves. Plus the location allowed us to take in awe-inspiring Sedona, which was only a couple hours away! Can’t say enough about our stay! We are truly great full to have found this “desert jewel”!

Very convenient to historic Gilbert and surrounding areas. Great Farmers Marketing Gilbert. Also, great little shops in the area. And many choices for golf courses.

Positives- Nice couple, clean, well equipped mother in laws pad, good location for food. Negatives- the property is connected to owners, shared walls and connecting door. Cat owners, cat in heat ALL night long, 4ft from the bed. I got no sleep and the owners knew it was doing it. Puzzling and frustrating they would allow it to be that close to the bedroom door/wall.

Our stay at the Desert Jewel was a great experience. Mark & J’Anne were wonderful hosts. They thought of every detail and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and effortless. We so enjoyed the beautiful decor and location. It was easy to navigate all of our adventures from this location. Our trip couldn’t have been better. I highly recommend staying at the Desert Jewel!

We enjoyed the Jewel very much. Everything was just as described and better. The space was comfortable and had everything we needed. I appreciated the attention to detail. We enjoyed the outdoor spaces, the ability to cook our own meals, and the quiet private setting. And the home was close to many amenities from out door activities to yummy restruants. We can't wait to visit again!

From initial contact through to arrival and departure, this was an exceptionally welcoming experience. The Desert Jewel was clean, very well organized and laid out, and aesthetically pleasing. It was terrific to have a visual connection and access to the outdoors (also well maintained and lovely) in a few different directions, and there were various places around the property to relax outside. The hosts were responsive, friendly, and helpful without being intrusive. I have worked in three different 4-star hotels in my life, and I have to say I was truly impressed by how many details and niceties the hosts thought to provide! Just to name a few: charger boxes on each side of the bed, an ample variety of kitchen supplies, an abundance of nice clothes hangers, and multiple lighting options including mood lighting in the bedroom. The same attention to detail and consideration went into the decor and furnishings which gave a feeling of relaxed elegance. If you want to feel well cared for and comfortable in the Phoenix/Tempe area, this is a gem (as its name implies)!

Thank you J’Anne & Mark … your place was so Beautiful and is by far the Best VRBO we have ever stayed at (do not hesitate to rent this place) It was Wonderful to meet you both!!! Location to downtown Gilbert was very walkable and we really ENJOYED our 3 week stay. The Hale Theatre, OHSO Brewery, Joes Barbecue and Snoozes Restaurant are just a few highlights we enjoyed walking to. The rest of the time we used Lyft or Uber (very reasonable) Everything was perfect when we arrived. There was music playing in the background and a Cold Beer in the fridge (such a nice touch) very clean property. The pool area was very nice to sit and relax and put my feet in and enjoy the SUNSHINE. Had coffee in the morning in the brand new hot tub which was Fabulous! We would most definitely rent again and tell our family & friends about this place!!!

This last week we spent at the Gilbert, AZ, property of Mark and Jullianne. The hosts were wonderful and saw to our every need. (Note, we were the first to use the hot tub!)
The hosts provided every convenience and were great in their communication. The home is beautiful and clean There was even a washer and dryer with detergent and softener.
We will return!
