Beautifully renovated inside and out. Our 2nd stay here and all staff & food were wonderful 😊

The Old Kings Head is an historic 16th century building which has been very tastefully restored. We had a very comfortable and clean bedroom, with a lovely spacious bathroom. The bedlinen and towels were vey good quality (super comfy pillows), and the White Company toiletries were a lovely touch. Communication beforehand on how to access the room key, should staff not be available to check us in, was timely as well as thoughtful. The staff were delightful, uniformly helpful and accommodating. And the food was unexpectedly excellent (we ate there every night): superb breakfast and one of the best risottos I've had in a long time. And all very competitively priced.
We would have preferred a Kingsize bed, and there was actually room for one in our room. (Other rooms had twins and King beds.) There was some noise from the adjacent road during the day, despite the deep double glazing, but it did not disturb us at night. But minor quibbles compared with the positives.

Lovely staff, good food, clean, easy parking and good location, nice pub
Room very hot, could not open windows, shower door needed a clean. Noise from upstairs, bad back from bed.
