We all enjoyed our holiday and the cottage was comfy and well stocked. Good location for a few places that where a short drive away.
Unfortunately a few little issues which need mention. Finding the place was pretty hard. Once we knew where it was all was fine, but first time was stressful for my parents. The lane was VERY tight in places and you have to be super careful as the ground and walls were uneven, so very likely to mark your paintwork! (My parents did on the last day). The hob in the kitchen is an induction cooker which was a big issue as both of my parents have pacemakers so couldn't use it. This should be on the listing! We had no hot water for the first 2 days due to something that needed resetting on the emersion heater. The water is yellow so a bit off putting, especially for the kids so we bought bottled. Place could have done with a better clean (lots of dust/ spiders and webs ) my mum organised and tidyied the book/games shelves, the kitchen cupboards, and the airing cupboard.

Ty-Gwyn is exactly what we were looking for. It is secluded and peaceful, and provided a perfect base for us to explore Eyri and the local area.

The house was lovely, very quaint and we loved that it was a bit of an adventure on the drive up to the house! The kitchen was very well equipped with all the supplies you could possibly need. The sofas downstairs were super comfy for snuggling up with the family. The beds were comfy and clean, in fact the whole house was super clean.
The only thing that was a slight pain was that the hot water tank was quite small so we had to plan showers throughout the day and there was not enough to fill the bath up for a nice soak.

the cottage is of traditional construction so un-masoned local stone, the huge fireplace is a great feature. The property has its own water supply which tasted great. It does mean that the un filtered hot water is a little yellow but not an issue.
The drive to the cottage is quite challenging. I drive an older car so not as wide as the more modern ones. Any large SUV or electric vehicle could struggle beyond where the road ends and the drive starts as there are walls on either side of the rough drive way up to and beyond the gate. More clarity from the owners in the description would help prospective renters.
The cottage itself is interesting with great thick solid walls, facilities wise okay but dated and not the cleanest of places we have stayed in. The 1970 crystal vein or chicken tiles in the bathroom are a nice nod to nostalgia.
Having to clean up previous renters dog mess from the front grass area so that my grand children could safely run around outside.
