Goed als tussenstop vanaf San José naar Tortuguero

De accommodatie was schoon en rook fris.

De kamer had geen airco en dit is geprobeerd op te lossen met een aantal ventilatoren. Ondanks dat was het redelijk warm.

Sehr hellhörig mit kargem Frühstück

Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber, die Besitzer sehr nett und die Aircondition hat gut funktioniert

Das Haus ist extrem hellhörig. Unsere Zimmernachbarsgruppe ist morgens um 5.30 Uhr aufgestanden, hat geduscht und gefrühstückt. Da war die Nacht vorbei und wir konnten nicht mehr einschlafen. Das Frühstück war äußerst dürftig.

Sehr gut für eine Übernachtung vor der Überfahrt von Pavona nach Tortuguero

Da wir in diesem Moment die einzigen Gäste waren, hatten wir das ganze weitläufige Haus und den kleinen Pool für uns alleine. Alles sehr sauber, netter Empfang, gutes Frühstück.

Da es relativ kühl war, ging uns eine Klimaanlage nicht ab, der Hausherr brachte einen zusätzlichen zweiten Ventilator vorbei.

Nous sommes arrivés en avance ( 3 h ) mais Luis nous a accueilli avec plaisir Nous avons apprécié la proximité de Tortugero ( 38 minutes), il y a plusieurs commerces a proximité pour faire quelques courses et diner a la maison d ailleurs la cuisine est tres bien équipées Concernant , petit déjeuner tres appréciable et typique à l heure que vous souhaitez La literie est tres confortable Luis nous a également de bon conseils sur les sorties à faire autour Nous reviendrons

Abhängen im Tica House

Einfaches gutes Frühstück. Das bestellte Abendessen, vom Host zubereitet, hat uns geschmeckt! Die Zimmer sind einfach, aber sauber, wir hatten unser eigenes Badezimmer. Unser Host war sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Wir haben diese Unterkunft als Ausgangspunkt gewählt, um den Nationalpark Tortugero zu erkunden. Wir durften sogar unser Gepäck deponieren, weil wir 2 Tage später nochmals hier übernachteten. Die Veranda mit Hängematte haben wir sehr geschätzt, ein kleiner Pool ist vorhanden. Sichere Lage, Auto konnte innerhalb der Umzäunung abgestellt werden. Abends kann man das kleine Städtchen zu Fuss besuchen. Gutes Preis-Leitsungsverhältnis

In der Nähe befindet sich das Kulturzentrum der Gemeinde, die Musik hört man bis spät in die Nacht. Am besten selbst hingehen und tanzen!

cooles Haus, wir waren alleine- man fühlt sich wie zu Hause. Ruhig und nah an Tortuguero- perfekt zu übernachten falls man der letzte Boat verpasst

Great place to stay before heading to La Pavona dock

Large clean house, perfect for La Pavona harbour, the hosts were amazing, Louis help us enormously, arranging a guide for us and providing invaluable information. Alan cooked us a lovely breakfast. Very secure property, car safety tucked away under cover. Large kitchen available.

Property could really do with more air conditioning, but the price was so reasonable it’s understandable that not all rooms have it. Nothing to do with the house but the town is a little lively, and on a busy road, although the property is on a very quiet side road.

Exceptional

Tico House is an incredible place to rest after a long trip. Starting with the excellent attention in the reception by Andrés, the main host. The house is super spacious, it has everything you need in the kitchen. The parking lot is large, and on the outside, they have beautiful terraces with views of the garden and a beautiful pool where you can cool off. It does get a little hot but there are fans that cool the room and the possibility of getting extra fans for free. The complementary breakfast was fantastic to have a little coffee before starting our trip to La Pavona. During the arrival, they gave us all the information on schedules, tours, and 100% top recommendations. We will certainly come back and recommend this absolutly amazing place.

It is a lovely well equipped property with secure off street parking, plenty of space and use of kitchen facilities. The staff were really welcoming and friendly.

The air con in the room wasn’t working, but the staff had installed a fan so we managed to stay reasonably cool during the night. We needed to drive to the town for dinner, mainly due to the lack of pavements (as advised by the staff) rather than the distance.

very helpful local host

Nice accomodation in a calm area. Bathroom and a big kitchen are shared with other guests. The host lives in another house in the same property and is extremely helpful with all the local tips, especially with planning a trip to Tortuguero national park.

Although it is quite close to the town, it is not very comfortable to walk there so if you want to go to the dinner or to a shop you need to go by car

I would stay again.

Luis and his mom Vilma were very hospitable. They were kind and informative. Their online posting was as advertised. The room was perfect for the price. Vilma even gave us an upgrade due to my father in law being a giant at 6foot5inches tall.

The shower head wasn't working for hot showers. But the water wasn't cold that I couldn't shower so no worries.

Very relaxing and comfortable stay with a super helpful host!

The host was super nice and very helpful! He got up with us at 4 am to drive us to the bus station! This is something I have never experienced before! Also the kitchen is amazing and very well equipped! Also, they had all the stuff for a sandwich and oatmeal ready for us to prepare! We had a great rest at the bed& and breakfast after a very long day of traveling. The room and bed were very comfy and quite!

We liked everything! We had a very pleasant and nice stay!

Lovely family & home!

Had an amazing stay here! Luis and his mom are super kind & were extremely helpful with helping us figure out our plans for getting to Tortuguero the next morning. We felt very welcomed and the place was beautiful, clean, and spacious. Parking is very safe as well. We had dinner at a delicious spot nearby at the suggestion of Luis. Great location to stay at if you're looking to catch the boat the next day to Tortuegro and need a pleasant location to rest!

Check in was easy! The woman who checked us in (I’m sorry I cannot recall your name!) was so very friendly and welcoming. The property was quiet, comfortable and clean. We also got a wonderful recommendation for dinner. Very pleased with our stop on our way to Tortuguero.

Feels like home!!

The place was amazing, we had a big house with well equipped kitchen, everything was very clean including the bathroom! And most important, the owner was very nice and welcoming! Always with a smile and always yes!

Everything was great, except it would have been nice to have air conditioning. We are not used to this sort of heat so it was a little uncomfortable for us. They did provide us with an extra fan that helped some.

Great location to Tortoguero.

Louis is a very warm host. Very personable and welcoming. Starting a new booking. Very clean house. Beautiful landscaping, secure ( behind locked gate) and secure covered parking. Big shower with lot of room. 25 min drive to Tortoguero Boat launch, not many other options in this area. Good communication from owner. This is essentially a family home renting bedrooms. It has a common living/TV room and kitchen.

No A/C in room, we had 2 floor fans. Less a bed and breakfast, more like a hostel-make your own breakfast in a nice community kitchen (Maxi-Pali .3miles away). No wash cloths or hand towels. No furniture in room, needs nightstand by bed, suitcase rack so suitcases are not on the floor. Hot water in shower was intermittent. WiFi was intermittent, worked if reset. No table or shelf in bathroom to set toiletries when using them. Pictures showed nightstand and chairs in the room. We only had one plastic lawn chair with pillows.

Lovely experience

The Tico House is a wonderful place to stay! Luis is a lovely host that does everything to make your stay unforgettable. The whole house is very clean, quiet, cosy and spacious. We will come back for sure and are so happy that we met Luis and chose this place! All the best from Germany :)

Good location with safe parking, great price

Nice host, friendly and helpful. Safe and private parking. Easy to find. Large room with well equipped kitchen. Fantastic price-value.

Doors are not well insulated, and seems one apartment door is not well adjusted. So we were in the middle of a very noisy "couple trying to open and close the door fight" at 5am. Sleep was over... Need to drive to the city to get dinner, not recommend to walk.

Beautiful house on the way to Tortuguero

Beautiful house and very nice set up. The parking was very convenient and the host was very helpful and informative.

It was hot, the a/c was shut off and it was too hot to sleep.

Beautiful house and outstanding hospitality!

Coming from Tortuguero I wanted to spend one night and stayed one night longer, because I liked this place so much! The house is beautiful, new, spacious and comfortable with everything you need and also has a great kitchen to prepare meals. Luis hospitality was amazing. He helps you with everything, we had some very nice conversations and he really loves what he is doing. So if you are around - stay here!

Refreshingly friendly and clean!

We experienced a very warm welcome and we’re immediately offered an upgrade to the master suite! the rooms were very clean and the house very spacious with great facilities! The owner was extremely friendly and recommended us places to eat and offered to drive us to the bakery in the morning and also sort out our transport to la Pavona!

Perfect stop on the way to Tortuguero!

The house was large, the rooms were good. The adult kids like the board games and it was a good place on the way to Tortugero. The owners were very helpful and responsive.

It is not a "bed and breakfast". There is coffee and tea in the morning, which was good, but there was no food of any kind. Should change name. The directions were hard to figure out, even for a Tico. Please add a Waze link.
