We were looking for a place to stay that was dog friendly and found Francis’s listing for Candyland Cottage. She was very communicative during the booking process. The home was cozy and perfect for our week and she left delicious locally baked cookies during our check in. She also left us a deck of cards which showcases local businesses. The home was clean, the backyard was taken care of and our stay was lovely. Thank you!

My husband and I stayed at Candyland Cottage for a month - combining remote work and vacation. The cottage was perfect - comfortable, convenient and the backyard was ideal for our dog. Francia could not have been a better host. We loved our stay and hope to be back. Can’t recommend Candyland and Francia enough!

Christmas decorations where a nice surprise. Great location for us to visit family in Arden and enjoy Asheville. Discovered that the outlets were not far, too. The dogs loved exploring the fenced yard. Really comfortable beds! Quiet. We had a great stay!!!

The Cottage was the perfect place just outside of Asheville. The home was very clean, had a beautiful fenced in yard for the dogs, and the host was very responsive! We enjoyed our time and would highly recommend booking.

Lightning bugs and Biltmore
Sweet little place to land near everything we wanted to do in Asheville. The property was as described. Our dog loved having a safe, fenced backyard after being on a leash for potty breaks at hotels along the way.
Comfortable space, perfect for two adults traveling together as we had our own bedrooms and bathrooms. Our host was very responsive when the fire alarm started chirping and needed a new battery.
Loved the porch and the lightning bugs! Wish we’d had more time to be here to enjoy the property.
One word of caution, the four front steps are quite tall. If you’ve older or mobility minded people in your party, take note. Not insurmountable, but not standard either.

Sweet stay
My daughter had a pre-college camp at UNC Asheville so we were looking for a location relatively close to the campus so we could be close by if she needed us. We found Candyland Cottage and booked it for several reasons, one including the large fenced in backyard for our dogs.
We asked if we could check in a little bit early because we had our dogs and the owner of the property was easy to get a hold of and tried to be accommodating which was appreciated.
When arriving at the cottage there were some playing cards for us, cookies, and treats for the dogs! It was also sweet.
The cottage was very clean and inviting. It was a good size for two couples.
The large fenced in backyard was awesome for our two dogs who loved it!
The location was great. We were very close to downtown Asheville, which we visited nightly. Unfortunately for me, I had to work most of the trip. But, I can vouch for the Wi-Fi being excellent!
Overall we had a fantastic stay! I highly recommend this cottage for two couples or a small family visiting the area.

This is such a nice, conveniently located space to downtown Asheville! The house was clean and comfortable. It is perfect for a couple getaway or a weekend with friends. Our pups loved the backyard and Francia communicated very well. We would absolutely stay here again!

Nice base for low-key couple vacation with dog
This worked well for us (middle-age couple with large dog). The yard is huge with a good fence (no holes or gaps) and gets great sun but also has shaded areas. The living room is on the small side, and I think it would be close quarters for four people. Property owners were good communicators, but we never saw them in person which is our preference.

Comfortable and convenient
The house was bright, clean, and cozy with cute decor. We regularly rent vacation houses because of our dogs and this one met all our needs. The dogs loved the house and the yard. It was a quiet area. It was convenient to Asheville/ Arden where family live. There are good grocery stores and restaurants close by. We were caught off guard by an unusual amount of snow. We asked ahead of the storm and then were able to easily rent the house for an additional night until the roads cleared. Great overall experience. We would rent again.

This house is really cute and very clean. We would have enjoyed our stay but the owners of the property set limits on the heat overnight and they forgot to reset them for “winter temps”. The first night we were there, the temperature went down to 20 degrees and the heater would not blow hot air. The property doesn’t have any heavy blankets so I would recommend at least having those if they are going to restrict the heat.

We were very pleased with how clean this house was — probably the cleanest rental we’ve ever had! We really loved the huge fenced backyard and spent a lot of time on the deck with the dog. Francia was easy to communicate with, check-in was a breeze, and the house was well-stocked. The front porch rockers were appreciated as well!
