We are anticipating a reopening date at the beginning of 2024. Thank you! Welcome to Coconut Castaway, our vacation beach home on North Captiva Island! North Captiva Island is only accessible by ferry, or water taxi, and is the ideal location for those wanting to get away from it all. In just a couple of minutes you'll walk from Coconut Castaway's front door to the beautiful beach on the Gulf of Mexico. Pristine turquoise waters, sandy white beaches, and captivating sunsets will be a daily delight, along with enjoying all of the amazing wildlife the island has to offer. This 1,600+ sq. ft. beach stilt home has a desirable upside down floor plan. The 1st floor has a king master bedroom, bathroom en-suite, and a private lanai. The 2nd room has two twin beds, and the 3rd & 4th bedrooms each have queen beds. All bedrooms have Smart flat screen TVs with Roku. All bedroom lamps have USB plugs to easily charge your devices at night. You will also find a full guest bathroom and washer/dryer closet. On the 2nd floor you'll find the kitchen, living area, dining area and 3/4 bathroom. The 4-panel sliding glass doors open completely into a large lanai providing panoramic views, including ocean views. If you're looking for a full 360 degree view of the island, just take the staircase up to the spacious crow's nest where you'll find beach loungers waiting for you to sit back, relax and soak in the sun. On the ground level you'll find an outdoor shower (to get all of that beach sand off!), a Weber grill and sitting area. The home sits on the road just south of the grass air strip, which means you'll likely be able to enjoy watching a private plane take-off or land during the day. The public beach is on the west side of the air strip and a great sunrise/dolphin viewing beach area is on the east side. As a member of The Island Club our guests enjoy the following club amenities: - 2 heated pools - 1 hot tub - Basketball Half Court - Kayaks - Fat tire bicycles - Boat slip rentals are available for around $50 - $90 per night depending on boat size Check-In Time on Day of Arrival: 4 pm ET Check-Out time on Day of Departure: 9 am ET At the home, you will find linens and bath towels and washcloths. The kitchen is fully equipped with a reverse osmosis water filtration system for great drinking water from the sink, plenty of glassware, plates and silverware, blender, coffee makers (Mr. Coffee and Keurig), whole bean coffee grinder, toaster, professional knife set, slow cooker, roaster, hand mixer, cutting boards, bakeware, pie dish, muffin pan and cookie sheets. On North Captiva Island you'll only find electric golf carts and bicycles on its dirt roads. Golf carts are included with the rental. It is important to note that only licensed drivers are allowed to drive the golf carts. If, at any time, more than 4 people are on a single golf cart, or an unlicensed and/or unauthorized driver is found to be driving a golf cart, the golf cart will be confiscated for the remainder of your stay and you will forfeit your security deposit. Please note the cancellation policy - More than 60 days prior to check-in: 97% (this accounts for the 3% credit card processing fee) of any rental payments made are refundable. Between 30 to 60 days prior to check-in: 50% of any rental payments made are refundable. Less than 30 days prior to check-in: No refunds will be provided. We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance to avoid loss of rental payments due to unforeseen circumstances. There are cameras situated outside of the home on the ground level for safety and security reasons. Please do not tamper with the equipment. Tampering with this equipment will result in a forfeit of your security deposit. While pets/therapy animals are not allowed at Coconut Castaway due to severe owner pet dander allergies, if you have a service animal we will require a brief form be completed prior to your stay. ***Once booked, you will receive a vacation rental agreement to sign, and a vacation checklist to make your trip go smoothly along with recommendations of vendors to use during your stay!***
