The location! Quieter, less crowded than Alona beach. The beachfront was way better than I expected, sand was super fine and powdery. The hotel also had an adjacent strip mall, which, even though it was still new and not a lot of stores were open yet, was still super convenient.
The staff were also super nice and accomodating! Kudos to the front office staff who allowed me a very early check-in because my flight came in super early.
The buffet breakfast was also great and had day to day variations which is a plus!
The gym - which could hardly be called a gym to be honest. Only had a dumbbell rack, 2 benches, 2 treadmills and stationary bikes. I could overlook the minimal equipment, but what really pulled it down for me was it felt neglected and not well maintained. It was dusty and obviously wasn’t cleaned regularly, since when I went one morning, there were still used towels just discarded there (ew).

We had an amazing stay at Modala Beach Resort in Bohol. It’s the perfect place to relax and unwind, whether you’re travelling as a couple or with the family.
The resort is quiet, peaceful and secluded, which makes it a great escape from the busier areas. The beach and surroundings are beautiful, and the food was absolutely amazing - we really enjoyed every meal.
The whole experience was relaxing from start to finish. Definitely a place we’d love to come back to and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway in Bohol.
Not much Grab drivers around the area.

Breakfast was delicious with very good variety, and new food selection for the next day. The resort is quaint and was perfect for the family bonding. The moadto strip mall just adds another dimension to meal options without driving away, just walking distance from the resort. Swimming pool is overlooking the beach, parking is covered and pretty secure at the basement. We would definitely stay here again in the no distant future...
The beach during low tide reveals weeds and rocks that walking without feet protection could be hazardous.

Great beach setting, shopping next door, rooms are nice and staff lovely. Convenient for airport
Crazy beach towel card system, pool no shade, umbrellas broken, no cushions for beach chairs. Hotel almost empty but given room with view of entrance lobby, beds very hard. Hotel is 8 years old but a lot of things broken due to lack of maintenance.
