the place is unique. perfect to relax during your vacation. King size bed super confortable. located next to the best surfing spots on the island. Exquisite food, cocktails and staff that makes you feel at home. the place to be in siargao with no doubt

Le personnel a été incroyable, accueillant, souriant, aidant ! Une bonne ambiance générale qui fait plaisir.
L’accès nécessite d’emprunter un petit chemin un peu cabossé, pas évident les jours de pluie intense.

The grounds are gorgeous; the landscaping, layout, aesthetic. The bungalow itself was so nicely decorated and designed.
The service was also great. Everyone was kind and the manager helped us book tours, rent out motorbike for the week, and generally made us feel very welcome.
The biggest drawback was the overall vibe. The owners open the pool and bar area up to the public everyday. They also seem to use it as a personal hangout/party spot.
Almost every day, the pool area would be crowded. The pool was amazing and we would look forward to enjoying it after a long day out, only to find that it was completely full of other people from outside the hotel.
There were also a few afternoons/evening where the owner and his friends would be loudly drinking in an area close to the rooms. Like a group of 5+ men belligerently talking about sleeping with women. And we could hear their convos loudly from our room just before dinner. Just really whack.
Overall this aspect was super disappointing. For the price we paid, we did expect a boutique experience, and exclusive access to the pool. I did see on their socials that they have a Sunday pool party which completely makes sense for the public, but tbh everyday felt like a pool party.
The main reason we booked this place was for the exclusivity (there are only 5 rooms). We thought it would be a chill and peaceful stay which ended up feeling a bit more like a hostel. Otherwise we would have booked something else.

The staff is amazingly friendly and helpful. They give you the feeling that anything is possible and they will try to come up with a solution for anything.
The rooms are very well designed. The whole place feels like walking into a magazine.
The menu of the restaurant is delicious and the included breakfast is amazing and the best we had in Siargao.
Scooter rental / laundry / day trips: all easily arranged via the friendly staff.
The place lacks pricavy. In the morning the music for the breakfast area is too loud and woke us up multiple times. Also at Sunday there was a DJ at the pool area playing music that didn’t match the chill vibe of the place (dark techno) at all. This continued all day and your room is pretty much next to the pool, so no place to hide.
Little to no WiFi in your room. Only at the restaurant/ pool area WiFi was ok.
Airconditioning was pretty bad in one room, but the staff understood the situation and let us switch rooms to a room with better airconditioning. Good job!

Really high standard room and facilities, including lots of hidden storage. Loved the “outdoor” shower…which now has a screen between it and the rest of the bathroom for those worried from previous reviews. Excellent food and helpful staff. Great location, in a quieter area.
Drinks were quite pricey. The weekly Sunday “party” turned out not to be too late or loud during our stay so not a problem - but a heads upon booking would’ve been good, and probably something to consider if you’re looking for a chilled/quiet stay. Keeping some lounger space available by the pool for residents would also be nice on busier days.

Everything, the location as it is not in the main street. The people, the food, the rooms, honestly this is an incredible place to stay.

Overall we had a nice stay at Surfing Temple, although it was frustrating at times due to a few things that could be improved. Surfing Temple is up there with one of the most expensive places to stay on Siargao and is generally expensive for the Philippines, so I write this review with the relatively high price in mind.
The rooms are very cool with the decor and the outside shower. The pool area is great and the staff were all very welcoming and helpful. The restaurant has a nice laid back feel to it and the food and cocktails are really good.
There are a few things that could be improved/future guests might need to consider:
- by far the most frustrating thing is the WiFi, it's so poor - as soon as a few people start using it at once there doesn't seem to be enough bandwidth to go round so it drops devices from the network. It seems to work best in the restaurant area but it's virtually non existent around the pool or in the rooms.
- no bed side tables in the rooms so if you want to pour some water or pour the kettle to make a cup of tea you have to either put the glass/mug on the floor or hold it in your hand while pouring the drink into it. Same if you take a cocktail back to your room, you have to put the cocktail on the floor. This takes away from the luxury feel the rooms have.
- the restaurant plays a jazz cover playlist that is nice for a bit, but the playlist is only about 8 hours long so songs repeat within the first day. A few days in of hearing the same songs over and over can be a little annoying. It would be good if they mixed the music up to keep it fresh and interesting for guests staying more than a few days at the hotel.
- the owners seem to use the hotel as their personal hangout spot, they frequently hang out with their group of friends in the restaurant and in the pool. It just felt a bit odd that paying hotel guests had to share the space with the owners. For example, there was more than one occasion where the owners would catch the last rays of sun on the pool in the evening meaning the guests couldn't. There was also an evening when one owner stayed up with a friend playing loud music in the restaurant. It was only them two in the restaurant while all the hotel guests were in their rooms in bed. I just didn't understand it, what hotel owner would play loud music for their own enjoyment when it's clear that it would disturb their guests?

Oh and the restaurant of the hotel is one of the best in general luna

The property offers only five villas, which ensures dedicated service to its guests. The personnel, from the reception to the restaurant and the night shift - are all warm and professional. The aesthetics of the property are complementing with nature, which is truly relaxing and enjoyable.
It's a little far from the points of interest. The road leading to the property itself is a punishment especially when it rains hard, which did during our two-night stay. I had to leap like a frog just to step on something hard but got stuck in mad a couple of times. The area is serene, though.

We loved a lot of things about the property:
1. The decor and style of the place is so aesthetically pleasing
2. The pool was so nice and had lovely lounge areas
3. The staff were all so friendly and accommodating
4. Location is near cloud 9 and if you want to go to General Luna, you can easily rent a scooter or get a tricycle into the town for a cheap price
5. The restaurant and bar had lots of options. Everything we tried was good!
The only thing we were slightly concerned about was the insects getting into the bedroom from the outdoor shower in the bathroom. The outdoor bathroom is a really cool touch but maybe the door between the bathroom and the bedroom could be tighter rather than having a gap, as insects and geckos can get in then.

The breakfast was alright, although despite the breakfast being a part of the reservation, they charge you extra for some of the items on the menu, the place was beautiful. The staff was helpful.
The WiFi didn't work, most of the food on the lunch and dinner menu was unavailable, despite the breakfast being included, they had dishes and drinks on the menu that they charged for that were not included in the breakfast which was part of the booking (which I find ridiculous), there were roosters that woke us up at 4:30 AM, there were bugs in the restroom as it was open which felt very uncomfortable, getting to the place was less than convenient as the road there was not paved and full of puddles and mud.

LOUD MUSIC AT THE EVENING FROM THE HOTEL RESTAURANT, SATURDAY AND SUNDAY, 50 METER FROM YOUR ROOM!!!
Staff was not incapable to book tours, impossible to have breakfast before 8.30am.
The hotel is quite far from the central area and you must take a tricycle or motorcycle because the road to the hotel is not paved.
Part of the wall in the shower is made of bamboo trees and lots of insects enter the room.
Full of mosquitoes and insects because the shower is open.
The restaurant closes at 21:00

unfortunately the food and the drinks are not up to standard compared to the place itself.
we were one of the few people staying there and if something. was available it was served cold, with no Love or not eatable. the only thing we did enjoy was the freshly cut fruit.
also the cocktails we had, it seemed like they never done it before.
do less but do it right would be our recommendation.
especially when you have people being stranded inside because of 24/7 rainfall..

I loved the outdoor shower.
Comfortable large bed.
Location - walking distance to surf / easy pick-up.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
The local dogs.
The ambiance in the restaurant and pool, with music and occasional dj's.
We missed a little communication on booked services (who cancelled but we were unaware).
The rain caused pools of water on the road leading up - which was a bit muddy. Nothing you can do about that though.

The staff go above and beyond. Amazing resort, rooms cleaned immaculately daily, feels like you’re living in the comfort of your own front room, whilst having 5 star service at your finger tips.

The ambience was so relaxing and so serene. To top it all, the staff up to the management were all so accommodating and really looked after us to make sure we would enjoy our stay.
One of the guys there even went out of his way to teach me how to drive the scooter to explore the island best. I would definitely go back.
Going in to the property from the main road is a bit of a rough road but only for approximately 80 meters anyway. Other than that, the property was excellent.

The room was nicely appointed and the grounds were small, but nice. The staff tried to be very helpful and the owner was great and was around most of the day to solve issues. The pool was very nice and the food was tasty.
There was minimal privacy in our room. If we opened the door shades to get light in our room it would open our room to a very close view of the restaurant and pool, which the general public uses all the time. There is no privacy in your room. This place is also an active construction site with a road that is dirt that is essentially underwater to get to which made riding a scooter dicy. We also experienced digestive problems several times after eating in the restaurant at the hotel. Finally, there was a language barrier with the staff that led to several situations where they tried to double or triple charge us for things like our scooter. So pay close attention to what you are paying for.

The place is awesome, super quite and chill, very relaxing away from the hussle of general luna and the polution from the main road but also close to the main surf spots in the island and to all the facilities you will need.
The villa was super clean and finally a proper bed and air condition system.
Stuff is very polite and helped us in any request.
Then the restaurant, high level, food is super good and also finally some proper drinks on the island they also make some events during the week like mercoles cabrones on Wednesday with good music and ceviche!!

Service was very disappointing: staff was not incapable to book tours/ van transfers, impossible to have breakfast before 8.30am while staff mentioned kitchen opened at 8am, impossible to have breakfast before tours (starting early in the morning) — overal very hard to communicate with staff (even for small things as hot shower, shampoo etc.)

the only dislike was the entrance path which was not paved and the rode was a little hard to drive with the scooter.
