The location was superb as it was very central and as we arrived by train it was very convenient. The apartment was clean and had nearly all the facilities we were expecting. There was no significant noise from other flats. Overall, it was a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
I wonder whether the outside area couldn't have been surrounded by a slightly higher, filled-in fence as the view wasn't the most enticing and there were some issues of privacy-invasion. For example, when people visited a shed my mother experienced people gazing at her from outside on one occasion.
Other slight issues which didn't impact massively but which still could be improved include an annoyingly low light shade in the main living area. After banging my head for the upteenth time I had to take the shade off. Also, the hot tap in the bathroom was a little difficult to turn off and the bathroom light was too high for my mum to turn reach.

Location was excellent and convenient for town centre, railway station and bus station. Apartment was private and very clean and comfortable.
Couldn't get the shower to produce hot water, despite contacting the helpline. A few more basic items in the kitchen would have been better - a whisk, vegetable knife, mixing bowl/basin, tablespoons.

The flat was clean and relatively spacious for a short stay, and the location is good as it’s close to Penzance station.
As frequent travellers and loyal users of Booking.com, we were disappointed with this aparthotel — it is definitely not the standard we’d expect at an 8.0 rating.
- The bed was extremely uncomfortable — the worst we’ve ever come across. It was very springy and lost all of its cushion, causing disrupted sleep and back pains. Thankfully, the sofa bed was better.
- The walls are thin — significant noise could be heard from the main road on some nights, to the point of disrupting sleep. We could often hear the sounds of neighbours walking about, slamming doors, creaking floorboards etc as well.
- The fridge and freezer were not working properly (fridge barely got cold, freezer did not get cold enough either), which spoiled our groceries (thankfully we didn’t buy too much initially) and plans to make simple meals and drinks. We messaged the host about it, but he merely asked us to keep checking if it was on and didn’t provide any solution or apology whatsoever.
- The shower is extremely squeezy, even for a small person. The soap dispensers were not functioning well either. The bathroom could also really use some hooks.
- The washing machine, though operational, was slightly dirty and mouldy.
- The check-in instructions were inaccurate and contradictory — the e-booklet link said flat 1, whereas the message said flat 3. Both instructions said the lockbox would be on the right, when it was in fact on the left. The keys are not labelled and 2 of them look the same. We were able to figure it out after some trial and error, but it’s not the best experience after a long trip, especially given the hallway light was not working (we arrived in the evening and had to use phone flashlights) and the 4G/5G signal is poor in the area.
Overall, the flat looked and sounded a lot better in the photos and reviews than what we experienced in real life. Replacement and/or maintenance of the bed, fridge-freezer, washer etc are definitely long overdue.
