Situated in Butler Beach, this attractive house for $891 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. ***The 2nd story deck was damaged in a recent wind storm. Guests will not have use of any of the decks outside until it has been repaired and that repair process has begun. The repairs are estimated to be completed by mid June. Please reach out with any questions.*** Panoramic ocean views, dunes filled with wildlife, two large decks and luxurious furnishings are all yours when you stay at Rising Sun Beach Retreat, our beachfront house on Crescent Beach. A perfect rental for families with children-includes whirlpool tub, HDTVs and more! The views are million-dollar at Rising Sun. Between the multiple balconies (offering ocean vistas and spectacular sunset spots) and the views from the house, there's never a boring sight! Filled with clerestory windows above the already large plate-glass windows and sliding glass doors, Rising Sun is lit with sunshine and blue sky all day long! The living room is an enormous space, with a fireplace, 55-inch HDTV, plenty of seating and even a conversation nook in a picturesque corner with panoramic views. Make it even bigger by opening the sliding glass doors and connecting the balcony to the rest of the room, adding the murmur of the surf and the calls of the birds to the soundtrack of your day. The kitchen and dining areas are open and inclusive in the living room. Prepare to fall in love with the aqua-and-white, diner-style kitchen at Rising Sun, complete with ocean blue tile backsplash and long breakfast bar boasting ultra-comfy padded stools. Stainless-steel appliances, hardwood floors, plenty of sunshine, well-stocked cupboards . . . this kitchen is all ready to host a pancake-making marathon, a fish fry, an array of exotic appetizers, or simply cereal and juice! You bring the groceries; we'll supply all cookware, dishes and utensils! If you think the living and dining spaces are nice, wait until you explore the bedrooms! The primary is the jewel in the crown, with a king-size bed, sliding-glass doors to the oceanfront balcony, TV and an en-suite bath featuring a whirlpool tub and separate walk-in shower. This luxe primary suite also offers a sunny little pocket of a room with masses of windows and a single bed, just right for a young child not yet ready to sleep too far from mom and dad (or a teen who wants their own space). In addition to the primary suite, a second spacious bedroom boasting a queen-size and single bed is located on this floor. The second bedroom is great for another couple traveling with toddlers or a small child and it also makes a nice clubhouse-style room for teens or older children. The other two bedrooms are on the first floor, which is very convenient if you're traveling with people whose sleep schedules don't all align. One bedroom has a lovely queen bed; the other offers two double beds and a twin daybed. As beautiful as the interior is, Rising Sun is all about the outdoors. Wraparound decks, a private boardwalk over the dunes and down to the sugary white sands of Crescent Beach, even an outdoor staircase going from the first to the second floor -- everything is about outdoor living here! You'll find plenty of places to sunbathe, read, chat and even update your social media or do a little work on the laptop (the free WiFi at Rising Sun works out on the deck, too!). Everyone in your group will soon have a favorite spot! Just minutes by car from historic downtown St. Augustine, Rising Sun is ideally located for amazing sunrises (as you might expect from the name!) and brilliant sunsets, too. The Intracoastal Waterway is nearby, with quieter waters for canoes and kayaks, trails for walking and biking and unbelievable natural wildlife. With the unspoiled, family-friendly beach nearby as well, it will be hard not to spend time in the warm sands! You'll love fishing, bodysurfing, sandcastle building and bocce-ball playing here! The St. Augustine and St Johns County area have a great variety of golf courses for players of every level and skill. Come stay at Rising Sun as soon as you can. You'll have a great time and make lifetime memories here! Bedroom # 1 (1 King), Bedroom #2 (1 twin inside separate room of master suite), Bedroom # 3 (1 Queen, 1 Twin), Bedroom # 4 (1 Queen), Bedroom # 5 (2 Double Beds and 1 Twin Daybed) Per St Johns County regulations, only ten people are allowed per rental, not counting children 12-years-old or younger. That means this property is allowed up to 10 adults and the rest of the guests must be 12 and under. The cleaning company provides a limited amount of basic necessities (toilet paper, trash bags, dishwasher/laundry soap, etc.) to get you started, you will want to bring some with you. We don't offer refunds or reschedule stays during hurricane season, even if there is an evacuation order. Please purchase trip insurance for your stay if this is a concern. EV Charging: There is a fee of $5 per day if you will be charging an electric vehicle at the home.

We had a wonderful stay at Rising Sun. It is in a great location and a short walk over the walkway to the beach. Plenty of space for 7 adults and 2 kids (with several beds to spare!) Highly recommend!

This place is a gem. It's not hidden, so it's not a hidden gem. But it is awesome. The beach is so close you can almost stick your toes in it from one of the decks. You can see the ocean from the main living area and the massive patio surrounding that area. The views are 10/10. Sunrise or sunset, your beach walk is just steps away.
The kitchen is well appointed, and the dining-room table is perfect for large groups. There are plenty of bedrooms and beds so everyone can sleep comfortably. (Do note: one "bedroom" is a little nook (with door) inside the master bedroom. The listing says this. I knew this. But you should too! It might matter for some.) The living room has plenty of sofas and a large TV. I don't know how well the TV works, however, because we never turned it on.
Historic St. Augustine is a short drive. Grocery store (Publix), restaurants, and the best Cuban bakery outside of Miami are just a couple miles away. You'll have plenty to do besides the beach, if that's your jam.
I would certainly return. This place was wonderful. Our group had the best time. You will too.

We had a fantastic time and would love to stay here again. The view from the second floor living areas was even nicer than the online pictures. The home was clean and ready for our use when we arrived. The kitchen was well stocked with plenty of cookware and dishes. The home's private board walk is a huge plus and made getting to the beach a pleasure. The home managers were quick to respond whenever we had questions. There was plenty of room for two families with kids. And the beach itself is beautiful. We love this area. This was our second stay at a beach house in Butler Beach and plan to return.

The house fit the needs of 2 families with 2 kids each and the grandparents! We had a great time and the walk to the beach was easy for those walking and the drive for the gear haulers was equally as easy!

We stayed here for mother's day weekend, walking in the house it was clean and everything i read about, but nothing prepared me for the view.. WOW.. I live in Miami, and there is no view like this. Drank coffee every morning as the sun came up over the water next to the bay windows. The beach was extremely clean and family oriented. Only a couple of miles from publix, and 10 mins. From the fun stuff in St. Augastine. David was a great host, answering questions right away, he not only cares for his guests and home but wants to make sure his neighbors and wildlife respected. Great family house!

You cannot go wrong staying this close to this beautiful beach! Our family of 10 did not feel crowded at all. The deck is a wonderful place to sit and hang out together, and the two lower bedrooms with lower deck access were so nice. The outdoor shower was wonderful after swimming in the ocean and to rinse sandy feet. The kitchen was so spacious, we all had room to make coffee, tea or whatever without stepping on each other. We had a great time!

We had a wonderful time at this splendid property. The panoramic windows, huge deck, and spacious living room were ideal. Please read the description of the bedrooms carefully. It is completely accurate. Note the fifth bedroom just has a twin bed. Perfect for our needs. Bring paper products and extra bath towels.
The outdoor shower was a treat and just steps away from downstairs bedrooms.
We had nine adults and five children ranging from 1 to 11. There was ample space for everyone. We would love to return. The weather was PERFECT during our late April visit.

This house is amazing!! The deck and the bay windows make it where you have views for miles. Big enough to have a family get together and not feel crowded. Even ended up staying an extra night! The host has great communication and i highly recommend them. We will definitely be back!

The property location on Crescent Beach is ideal. Beautiful sunrises, gentle waves and lots of beach to walk on and play in. The kitchen, living area and deck provide nice views of the dunes and ocean. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking for large groups.

The home space was exactly what my family needed. It was in a great location and check-in process was a breeze. Not sure who failed to check the status of the televisions in each room prior to our arrival but all of them had no signal, with the exception of the TV in the living room. It was quite disappointing that after having informed the property owner of no signal TVs in all rooms there was no real sense of urgency to address the matter until the day we were leaving. Nothing was offered in return for the inconvenience, although it was an included amenity that was not functioning during our stay.

Rising Sun is an amazing property! From the beautiful sunrise, seen right from the deck & glass sitting room, to all the little touches to make you feel at home. Our family enjoyed a few days a way to celebrate my son’s graduation from doctorate program at UNF. We took walks on the beach, played games and took advantage of the close proximity to St Augustine for some food and fun in our oldest city in America. The hosts are very accommodating and have set this place up for all to enjoy. We will definitely be back to make more family memories. Thank you for sharing this beautiful home!

Piece of Heaven
This house was amazing. So clean, fully stocked with appliances, pans and cookware and beach stuff (chairs, boogie boards, sand toys) The view was unparalleled, the beach was practically private, no crowds. The owner was quick to answer questions. I’ve never had such a peaceful, beautiful vacation. I will definitely be coming back to this place.

The great room with kitchen on the top floor is the soul of this property. It has excellent views of the beach. There is comfortable seating for 10-14 people. Kitchen has good quality appliances/range/utensils/silverware. All TVs works and have netflix. The master bedroom suite is great! Private access to beach is the best part of the house! We spent most time on the top floor when we are not on the beach. The neighborhood is good as well. u
Not so great things now:
Lower level bath rooms didn't have hot running water. We did not report this issue as we didn't have time to deal with things like this and just used the top level bath rooms for shower. The lower level bath rooms didn't have good exhaust so they smell a bit. Mattresses all across are soft so if you like firm mattress, this may not be very comfortable for your back. The most frustrating part of staying here is that there's not sufficient dishwasher soap, laundry detergent, trash bags. We expected these to be there so we don't worry about such stuff while vacationing. While it only costed us 20 bucks, it was a disappointment. We only interacted with our point of contact for the property thrice and we didn't get a response once. Do not expect a "warm" treatment. You are likely interacting with a property management who cares only about terms/conditions. To be fair, we didn't get any "cold" treatment either.. just pure business - which may be acceptable to some. The house is old but some areas renovated.
Overall, if you want access to the beach in under 90 seconds and a great room to hand out with family, this is a nice place to stay. Publix/Winn dixie are 6 minutes away.

The air-conditioning was not working (87 degrees on entire lower level) and my son moved to the only other upstairs bedroom that had air. Called property owner on Saturday. Said he would take care of it that afternoon. No one came, cancelled the rest of my family coming Saturday into Sunday. Got a call Tuesday that someone would show up that afternoon to repair the air. No one came. Checked out Thursday morning, still no air. Got a note from property owner that they repaired the ac after I left.
The house has been updated with cosmetics. Systems look like original. Buyer beware.
