About this house rental

Nestled in South Chatham, this charming house for $550 per night is a great option for your next vacation. Welcome to The Salty Breeze! Come enjoy the perfect vacation spent in Chatham, one of the most desirable summertime destinations in the country. Our home is located south of 28 and just a 10- minute walk to the beautiful sandy beaches of the Nantucket Sound. Take advantage of everything the Cape has to offer while relaxing in our home. Walk to the beach, eat out at great restaurants in downtown Chatham and nearby Harwich-port, wander the tranquil walking trails in the Harwich Conservation areas close by, use one of our bikes on the Old Colony Rail Trail, take the Freedom Cruise Line Nantucket Ferry that leaves only a couple miles from the house or just enjoy the tranquility of the salty ocean air while you dine-in on fresh catch from the Chatham Fish Pier. Whether you are new to vacationing at the Cape, looking to discover new things to do and places to eat or just wanting to rediscover your old favorites, our location is perfect. We’ve tried to think of everything you’ll need to make your vacation truly relaxing. Outdoors, the house has a large deck with a dining table and gas grill. We also have a firepit area, hammock and shed full of beach toys, bikes and other outdoor games. The basement offers a great space for your group to spread out. There is an additional living area with a TV, a ping pong table and a bar table for those that need a great spot to play board games or work remotely. There is an additional desk in the king bedroom for those needing a dedicated workspace. Please see the full list of house amenities and reach out with any questions. This house is so special for the quiet surroundings with great proximity to the beach. Pleasant Street and Forest St beaches are both just .5 mile walks on residential streets. The outdoor shower makes cleaning up easy after a full day down out at the beach! We ask that you are respectful of our neighbors and quiet neighborhood when enjoying the patio/ fire-pit and deck in the evening. There is a manual at the house with general instructions, such as WiFi, check-out process and garbage collection. Our cleaning fee includes linen service. In addition to partnering with a third-party cleaning service following strict changeover protocols, we also have a HEPA air filter in the home for use between guests. We love this home, Chatham and long summer days spent out at the cape and we can’t wait to share it with you. Reach out with any questions you have on the area or the home before booking.

We are a family of 4 (all adults now) and the Salty Breeze was perfect for everything we wanted to do for our 2 weeks. Since we were very familiar with the area, we were ecstatic that this was available with all its amenities. The central air was a blessing during our first week with the humidity. A great central location to everything - including all our favorites (Harwich-Port, Chatham, The Corner Store, Forest Beach, Red River Beach etc.). There was plenty of space for everyone, including our guests and it was clean and well decorated. The bikes were great for a quick ride to the beach to look for shells and the hammock worked well for those late afternoon naps. I would suggest that if you are going for more than a week like we did, arrange for the cleaning service to swap out sheets and towels after the first week. We had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend the Salty -Breeze to anyone looking for a great Cape Vacation.

Would highly recommend staying here. The owners went out of their way to make sure our stay was nothing less than perfect. They provided so many extra things that we often are not used to having at a rental. The location is perfect as well!

This was our first vacation post COVID and I really wanted it to be special. This home delivered. It was not only big enough it was clean and WELL stocked. I loved that we didn’t have to take linens or bikes. I would have loved another week to enjoy it more-but there’s always next year! Already booking 2023. Lindsay was always quick to respond and Ry accommodating, great host.

This was a great property! The house was clean, had room to spread out and a great yard for spending time outdoors. We loved the proximity to the beaches and the water of Nantucket Sound was warm enough to swim in! Location was great - close to grocery stores, Main St. in Chatam for shopping and centered on the cape for easy access anywhere!

The main reasons I was drawn to this property were spot on and as advertised: -Great yard space for lawn games - both the front and side yards are perfect for cornhole (the house had a great set); bocce and croquet (we brought our own) -A separate basement space for teens and tweens - a sectional, a big TV, as well as big Jenga and a ping-pong table (we have 2 kids and had friends with 3 kids down for a few nights (ages 8-13) and it was great for them to have their own space away from (and out of the adults' hair!) -A bunk room that could sleep lots of kids (see above) -Walking distance to the beach - there is a neighborhood beach about a .5 mile walk (or an easy bike ride) as well as a larger one about a mile away and several other beaches with short drives Bonus things: -LOCATION, location - an easy drive or ride to downtown Chatham or Harwichport as well as all the beaches mentioned above -The owners very kindly left a bottle of wine as well as a bag with mini shampoo, conditioner and shower gel bottles, a sponge and dishwasher tabs -.3 miles to the Old County Rail Trail (which connects to the Cape Cod Rail Trail) - super convenient! -A few bikes provided by the owners - my family brought their own but I don't have one so it was great for me to use the house one, as well as store ours in their shed -The house is very much in a neighborhood so the kids were able to ride their bikes around (though the house is on a dirt road FYI) -I can't speak for all the beds, but the master was quite comfortable -Though we didn't need them, the house is well stocked for younger kids, i.e. toddler bed, mini table and chairs on the deck, as well as one in the basement; younger kid-type beach toys in the shed, etc. -Overall well-stocked kitchen, a good amount of towels and beach towels (could maybe use a few more hand towels!) Opportunities (NOT cons!) First, I'll preface this by saying I believe the owners just bought the house in 2021 so this was their first rental season so I'm sure they'll continue to add and improve things. We had a few issues but the owners responded quickly and reimbursed me for the few things we needed (a bike repair, gas for the grill, etc.). There were a few things that broke (a towel bar, a kitchen drawer) and we let them know right away and they were apologetic. I am confident that it will get better and better over time. Thanks for a great last-minute stay!
