About this cottage rental
Nestled in Key West, this lovely cottage for $500 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. Located just 2 short blocks from Duval and in the center of downtown, the Southernmost Retreat is a recently renovated and decorated 3 bedroom, 2 bath house. The Southernmost Retreat is part of the Simonton Historic Cottage enclave and is surrounded by fine restaurants, art galleries, shopping and proximate to all attractions in the Old Town District. No car is needed as you can walk to the beaches and all of the famous attractions. Two of the Queen bedrooms share an en-suite bath easily assessable from either bedroom. It features a very large walk-in shower. The 3rd bedroom features a full sized bed, walk in shower and private entrance. The quaint living room has a new L Shaped Sofa that provides plenty of additional sitting room for kicking back and chill time. Each bedroom and the living room are equipped with brand new HIDEF Samsung 4K Smart TV’s. In addition, we have recently upgraded the cottage to include FREE 250 Mbps Comcast Hi Speed Business Internet, new orthopedic mattresses, and cozy linens – towels to make your stay relaxed and pleasant. There is also a brand new Central Air Conditioning system to help keep you comfortable and snug, especially during the warmer summer months! Adjacent is a completely equipped kitchen that has granite counter tops, glass cooktop stove, microwave and refrigerator. Even wine and champagne glasses are included! A bicycle lock-up in the courtyard is available. Blocks from the marina district, and an easy walk (.7 miles) to Ft. Zachary Taylor where Australian Pines tower over the beach. There is on street parking available (Hemmingway House .28 miles, Duval Street 1 block, Marina District 7 blocks, beach .7 miles). There is a health food store located directly across the street called 'The Sugar Apple' which serves fresh fruit smoothies, lunch, and offers a variety of health food. A CVS is located one block away. A bike and scooter rental location is one block away. There is a grill outside in the courtyard for you to use. A 3-night minimum stay required and strict No Smoking policy applies. Please contact owner for exception to 3 night minimum Please note rates are subject to change and are higher during Event Periods such as Fantasy Fest, Gay Pride, Memorial Day, Christmas Week, New Year's Week, Thanksgiving, etc. Longer stays than 3 days may be required during event periods. NOTE: There is No Dedicated Parking included with this rental. Directly on Simonton Street are (4) spaces and available on first come basis. We do recommend keeping the car parked and walk, bike or use the bus service, The Duval Loop. Location is so important and this VRBO has an excellent location. We walked or took short Uber rides everywhere we wanted to go- and we could easily come back for a quick lunch or nap in the middle of the day.
Parking was competitive but we always got something within three blocks, as we have people in our family with NYC skills 😂.
One of the 3 BRs is small and more like a front room/entrance converted to a BR but we made it work and very much appreciated the rarity of having a place with 2 bathrooms.

The property was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed having coffee and people watching in the morning from the front patio. It was only a few blocks to Duval St. where there are plenty of restaurants to choose from. The property is centrally located, so we were able to walk to everything.
The main reason we went to Key West, was to celebrate my 70th birthday. I informed the owner of this and I was surprised to see a Birthday card and balloon. It was a nice touch.
I would definitely book this property again.

Communication was excellent with Nancy. We were able to leave our luggage and come back later to check in. Milton, the housekeeper was accommodating and friendly. This cottage is a block from Duvall and we walked everywhere with no problem. Will def return and stay here. Thanks for having us!! : )

This was our first family vacation which included our son in law. The set up was perfect the adult children took the rooms with the queen beds and shared the bath; my husband and I took the smaller room with the full bed and enjoyed our ensuite. It was so close to Duvall Street that everything was easily accessible, but not so close that we were disturbed by the noise. We will definitely stay there again if we have that many people. There was a problem with the smoke detector one night, but Nancy was quick to respond, and the problem was easily resolved.

3 couples stayed in Key West for one fun night. While the property unit we stayed in was small and strangely laid out, it was clean and was perfectly located. Fit the bill for what we needed. We had easy & fast responses from the property manager as well.

Nice clean small cottage. Location was perfect if you want to be on Duval St. awesome little Cuban Coffee shop right around corner. We had 6 adults and we fit fine. I wouldn’t plan to cook much, no real table or place it eat but there are a lot of great places near by. Parking is a little tight, we had to park a couple blocks away to start but just watch for someone to move and go get car. We ended up parking right in front later that night.

The condo is within walking distance to everything in Old Town which was our first priority. It’s small and the layout is a bit chopped up. There really isn’t enough seating inside for four people but there is outside furniture that will seat everyone. We realized the refrigerator wasn’t keeping our food cold after we went shopping and ended up having to throw food out. The property manager Nancy was very responsive and brought in a temporary well worn mini frig until the new frig was delivered. There were a couple of other issues like the neighbor in the unit behind us smoking outside so we couldn’t use the back patio, and also probably inside because the smoke alarms went off twice in our unit late at night. Even with these issues we still enjoyed our stay in Key West.

This rental is in the perfect place. It was very clean. It had drawbacks. No place to gather and have a meal together. No way to sit and watch a little TV to wind down IF the TV in the main room worked. Overall It was a great place because of the location. They should have information there about the Duval Loop. It is a FREE bus that can be caught in less than 2 blocks and has 18 or so stops all around.

The cottage was in the perfect location… 2 blocks off Duval. Loved the outdoor seating. Several mornings we went to the French Bakery on Duval to get breakfast and brought it back to enjoy outside.
The cottage was perfect for our group. The only thing I would say is the mattresses are probably at end of life 😊. New softer mattresses and this place is 10’s across the board. Thank you for sharing your cottage

What a great experience! We were able to leave our luggage before check-in. Problem with TV's. Nancy, property manager took care of the problem immediately. It was not the properties fault it was the internet. One block off Duval Street. We had several hours after check-out before our plane left and we were able to leave our luggage while we went back to Duval Street. We were all adults, but our cottage would be perfect for a family. Nancy said she just wanted us to be happy and we were!

The house was perfect for the 6 of us. We could easily walk every where, to duval street where all the action is, the shops, beach, great restaurants and the southern most point. We went on an amazing sunset cruise. I would definitely recommend this location.

We had a post-wedding celebration getaway and spent five days in Key West. The location of this bungalow is perfect—a short walk to anywhere we chose to go. The cottage had all the essentials and was very clean. The thermostat’s battery ran out, causing the air conditioner to stop. This was fixed promptly. My only recommendation would be to invest in a better quality bed pillow.
All in all, though, the bungalow was perfect for our getaway. Heartily recommend.

This house was as advertised. We stayed for 5 days at this location and it was close to Duval but yet it was very quiet of a night and there wasn’t any disturbances that kept us up. House was clean and nice. Would definitely recommend!

Everything was great, very clean, and conveniently located near Duval Street. Loved having keyless entry. Parking can be a challenge; that's Key West for you.
It's best to grab a spot in front of the unit during slack times then walk to Deval or catch the excellent free bus. The only inconvenience was that my granddaughter had to either go through our bedroom to get to the kitchen or she had to exit the front door and reenter the side door. I'd stay there again if we're back in Key West.
