Cute, friendly and quiet

The staff were wonderful and accommodating. The place was very clean and cute.

The beds weren’t the best but we made it through 3 sleeps fine

Super place pour decouvrir le lac Atitlan

Bien situé au bout de la rue animée. Pas trop de bruit. Chambre au 3e étage avec vue sur le lac et hamac en face de la porte. Parking très sécuritaire pour la moto Cuisinette sur l'etage et cruche d'eau potable fournie La proprio est tellement gentille qu'on a envie d'y rester. Elle.offre le.service de blanchisserie

Pas d'eau chaude dans la douche. Internet plus ou moins bon par moment.

Great Views & Great Value

Basic accommodation and great value for the money. Awesome location, great views of the lake, and cute little decks, chairs and hammocks outside the rooms. It is very conveniently-located on the main street, yet away from the noise! Door was very secure which I felt good about. There was even hot water, to my surprise!

Very very simple rooms with beautiful view, super nice and helfpul staff. And I loved the hammocks outside.

The only thing is that the offer says there's a kitchen included in the room, while it's a communal kitchen outside the room.

Beware! Booking.com offers crap, non-existent customer service!

Booking.com offers ZERO customer service! 😡 This was the first time I needed to contact them, and now weeks later after multiple messages I have yet to receive any response. They'll take take your money, but they will NOT be there to help when you need them. When I arrived, I was shown to a room that was definitely NOT what I'd reserved. The room had no TV, no desk, no kitchenette, not even a hook on the wall or even a chair. And worst of all... NO bathroom! I am a curmudgeon when it comes to crapping on a piss-drizzled toilet seat in shared bathrooms. No apologies offered. The room I'd reserved with a private bathroom was occupied, and would not be available until the following afternoon. After I protested vociferously, they did give me a $9 discount on the first night's stay. 🙄 When I was able to move the next day, my new room was far different from the photos of my reservation, but at least it had a private bathroom. (Only problem being that I had to sit sideways on the toilet because of the protruding wall directly in front of it, which left no room for my left leg.) Even if I had been given the room I originally reserved, it would not have had a view of the lake. Rather, you get a view of the back of the hotel across the street. The picture they show in the description of an unobstructed lake view is clearly taken from standing on top of the cistern up on the roof. I was deeply disappointed with the misleading descriptions and photos of this hotel compared to the accomodations I experienced. What a rip-off!! And shame on you, booking.com, for your utter crap, non-existent customer service. Beware!

smoothly run, affordable, without giving up on comfort

it was very convenient to the chabad nearby for my Friday and Saturday sabbath observance. It was wonderfully well thought out with hammock it outside my room. The roof is stunning and not to be missed. The lake is just 500 feet down the hill right in front of the place for swimming.

The wind whips past the corner rooms, shaking the windows. And making it terribly cold.

Good

Location was great, nice little spot to swim just at the base at the hotel with a path, staff was fine, balcony if you were great, hammock was nice addition.

Loud drunks walking past the pathway that leads by the hotel, screaming kids playing all hours of the night, dogs, chickens, tuk-tuks. Basically loud. Great if you’re a sound sleeper. Not so much if you aren’t.

The view and patio outside our room. With a hammock and recliner. And a washing sink outside for doing our laundry.

Allot of folks walking by our window to access roof top. A little awkward.

The location and view is good.

There were no blankets, towels, and tissues when we were given the room. The pillows were extremely thin and uncomfortable. The room had ants everywhere, and was not clean as one would expect. The wifi sucks big time, it would take solid half a minute for you to search something on google.

Nice room with a great view!

Lovely room with an amazing view of the lake. And great location.

Kitchen was quite unusable, so didnt cook anything. Bit of construction from the extra building which was loud but not too bad.

Tried to charge me twice for a booking

I actually did like my stay at this hotel but was informed a day later that the hotel put me down as a no show on booking.com which was not the case. Meaning booking.com now wants to charge me the fee for my stay when I'd already paid the owners at the hotel. I'm hoping this was just a mistake but even so it's left a bad impression.

Very good stay

Staff were lovely and very helpful Bed was comfy and clean Good location close to everything but far enough away to get sleep

Only issue was dogs barking and tuk Tuk /bike engines late at night

Comfortable Stay in a Central Location

This is the third time I've stayed with Villa Del Lago and have to say the staff is always kind. They are helpful every step of the way and make you feel special by remembering you. The locaiton is ideal for walking anywhere witin San Pedro la Laguna. Rooms are simple per usual with family-owned hotels around the Lake, but very clean and tastefully decorated. The views from the rooftop were incredible and offered unmatched sunset views. We also had a great view of the Lake from our corner room!

Mmm... I requested the white building (rather than yellow), which is closer to the Lake, but they were so full it was impossible to accommodate. So I guess, very selfishly and in total jest, I didn't like that they've been doing so well and growing so much that they sell out rooms ;)

great value for money

well located as it’s not in the middle of the busy San Pedro but literally 2 minutes walk which means you can’t hear anything and have a super good sleep. the room was big enough for 2 people, nice shower. the kitchen was great to prepare our meals, and the rooftop was amazing.
