The camp had everything we needed for a relaxing catch up weekend. We visited some local attractions, took a ride around the lake and had a campfire next to the water. The camp is stocked with dishes , pots and pans, a full kitchen( minus a dishwasher.) We visited in September and the neighborhood was quiet and well taken care off. All in all a nice time away.

This house was so cozy. We enjoyed the view of the lake but disappointed in the poor upkeep of cottages across the street. Some are just beautiful. Others should be torn down. We grew up in Chautauqua County and found this the perfect base for going off to visit all of our friends. Also many good restaurants near by. The. Fire pit was a great end to our day and the communication with the property manager was outstanding. I’ve stayed in many VRbO’s and experienced none better

The cottage is really well located, out of the main town of Bemus Point, but just a few minutes to everything. We especially loved sitting out on the deck at the end of the day, watching the very peaceful lake scene.

WOW , we loved Laura's place! We literally did not need to take anything for our stay other than our personal items! Everything you need plus so much extra was provided. Games, puzzles, books we really felt at home and loved our stay! This is a beautiful cottage with great lake access and views! We will definitely come back again and recommend to our friends!

The cottage is much bigger than we expected from the pictures.
The house sits on a nice size lot with a view of the lake and a long dock. We built a fire in the large firepit and there was even a bundle of wood to get us started!
There are small cafe tables and chairs and four outdoor chairs on the deck and a picnic table in the yard, so plenty of seating for guests.
The two sliding glass doors off the deck bring in refreshing lake breezes to cool the whole house. Since there’s only one air conditioner (in the primary bedroom), on warmer days, there are many fans in the house including ceiling fans. I run warm, and I had no issues with the heat;)
The bedrooms are small but fine for the two of us. The primary bedroom has a full size bed and a large dresser and a very big closet. The second bedroom has a day bed (trundle). We didn’t open it. We used that room for our luggage. There’s also a cabinet with a TV inside. There’s a nice table that made a good charging station.
The bathroom is a nice size with a huge walk-in shower and a stackable washer and dryer, which is super convenientl.
Now the kitchen!! I have stayed in a lot of rental homes, and never have I been lucky enough to enjoy such a fully stocked kitchen. Well, at times, it’s stocked, but the stuff is gross and I don’t want to use it! Not the case here! We felt like we were staying at a friend’s home!
Our hostess couldn’t have been kinder. She even left us some food and a welcome basket!

Not only is this location on the lake just right, but the house itself has just the right combination of space and amenities to make your time there wonderful. The dock and deck are great for enjoying views of the sunset. There are plenty of dishes and kitchenware, and many nice touches. The host, Laurie, is a great communicator and is gracious across the board. The neighborhood is quiet and lovely. Just the right combination for a week on the lake. Thank you for a great visit!!

Perfect Bemus pt location. Within walking distance ( one mile) to all the amenities yet quiet and natural setting away from the summer crowds . The owner thought of everything and then some to supply the home .

Great back deck with a nice view.
We enjoyed watching the mother duck and her ducklings, the squirrels and the jumping bass while reading or hanging out with our family. I also loved the knobs on the kitchen cabinets. They looked like blue eyes looking back at us.
The owners made sure we had things that we needed, including beach towels and lighters. They were very communicative and their caretaker stopped by to make sure everything was well. This is one of the best VRBO owners we have dealt with.
The house is pretty much as advertised, however the bed in the master bedroom is a double, not a queen. My wife and I are larger individuals and we had to sleep in separate beds. Not a huge deal, but would have liked to have known that.

A little extra cleaning would go a long way. A few cobwebs and clean the windows and bathroom mirror. Also mirrors in the bedrooms would help get 4 women ready in the morning ready a little easier. Overall, everything else was perfect.

It seems the people who rented right before us had some problems with the property. These had been corrected by the time we arrived. There is still no air conditioning, but there is a breeze off the lake and plenty of fans. Then again, it wasn't terribly hot on our weekend.
The property is right on the lake, but a short drive from the town and nearby attractions. Nothing is within walking distance.
If you are looking for a location with many things to do, perhaps this is not a perfect rental. But if you are looking for a quiet weekend or more sitting by the water and occasionally going out to the nearby attractions, this is a perfectly fine rental.

The beginning to our vacation started out pretty rough. We entered the property to find an 83 degree and humid hotbox of a cabin with little to no air circulation. For some reason the owner chooses not to install even a cheap window shaker ac to accommodate her guests on hot summer days. The fans do not provide adequate relief and an AC really needs to be installed. Luckily due to cool temps overnight, we were able to make the cabin somewhat comfortable. Upon first flush of the toilet the handle broke making it inoperable without opening the lid and pulling the plunger up. Shortly there after the front door lock broke. I provide this information for transparency on the rating. Had the vacation ended there we would be rating it 1 star. However, Laurie the owner was extremely helpful and remorseful about the items breaking. Her maintenance guy came promptly and fixed the door the next day once a locksmith was open. The property is in a great location that is within biking distance to beautiful Bemus point and long point state park. The dock provides the needed space to tie off a boat. The water off the dock is not very clean due to seaweed and algae bloom that is clearly beyond the control of the owner. Open water on the lake is much cleaner, but the shoreline is not due to the local government not managing the lake as they use to. There is ample parking for multiple cars/boat trailer. The street it is located on is tight so some maneuvering is required if towing a boat but I worked out great. Overall the property owner was extremely helpful and the property is beautiful. If looking for an affordable cabin with a dock on the lake in a great central location this listing fits all those needs. Recommendations for upgrades to the property would be the addition of a window ac to help during the really hot days of summer. Thank you, we truly enjoyed our time at your cabin.

Relaxing, peaceful, charming
The cottage was actually a little bigger than what we were expecting except for the bedrooms. However, we were outside enjoying the beautiful backyard and lake front view most of the time. Our host Laurie was right on top of things the one time we had a question ... everything else was clearly explained before our arrival. Great stay for a couple or a family of 4. We had a wonderful lake vacation experience!

Nice getaway
We had a few days off and wanted to see the National Comedy Center in Jamestown. The cabin was a perfect location on the Lake. Sadly the rains made the back yard very wet, but it was April. Everything nicely organized and easy to find.

We were looking for a little fall getaway not far from home where we could take our dogs and relax for a few days. Laurie's cottage on beautiful Chautauqua Lake was everything we were looking for. We truly wanted the "lake cottage" vibe; my only requirement is a place that is clean and well-cared for. This cute red cottage met those requirements and surpassed them. She supplies every amenity you could possibly need, and there were even freshly cut flowers and candies waiting for us when we arrived. Our dogs settled right in and they too loved to sit on the deck and watch the water fowl and and boats on the lake. The town of Bemus Point is very close by,,,about a three minute drive or easily walkable as well.
I highly recommend this cottage and locale! I hope we can return some time in the near future for a longer stay.
