Located in Topsail Beach, this lovely house for $343 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. Unwind in a tranquil, relaxed area of the island. Marvel at the stars at night and soak up the sun on a stunning, expansive beach by day! Enjoy a beautiful sunset view of the sound from the spacious back deck. Catch up with family and friends on the large side deck with a view of iconic Topsail Beach Water Tower. The house is approximately a block and a half from the beach access, and about the same distance from the sound. There is a kayak loading area for the sound about a half-mile down the street. Sound's Great is a charming, recently renovated, well-appointed home with an easy, under 2-minute stroll to one of the most convenient public accesses on spectacular Topsail Beach. It’s an ideal spot for biking , kayaking, grilling burgers or seafood, or just relaxing with your favorite beverage on a spacious deck. The house is actually 2 separate dwellings, with a total of 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and two living areas. (Each level has 2 bedrooms, one bath, and a living area.) The kitchen and laundry room are located on the second floor, while the first floor features a convenient mini-kitchen equipped with a refrigerator, Keurig coffee maker, and microwave. Note: Access to the first floor is via outdoor steps, requiring entry from outside the house. The house is located in Topsail Beach (on the island's south end), a historic and charming town with a missile museum, a 1950s-era putt-putt course, fine dining at the Beach Shop, wine and books at The Quarter Moon, and high-quality gifts at The Gift Basket. You can also catch live music some evenings at Quarter Moon, Beach Shop, or the local municipal park. Surf City, which boasts an endless selection of restaurants and fun-filled activities is only a 10-minute drive away. We stayed at this property for 4 nights over a holiday weekend. We had originally planned to stay 5 nights, but a passing hurricane delayed our trip by a day. Brenda proactively communicated and proposed plan B and she refunded the night we missed. We were able to checkin a day later then planned and everything was perfect and as stated on VRBO. Great communication, great location close to beach, comfortable places to relax both on outdoor deck and in both levels of the house. Plenty of extra supplies provided that you don’t normally find in a rental. We loved our stay and will return.

The house was wonderful. Everything was clean and organized. The kitchen was labeled to make cooking a breeze. The hosts went out of their way to supply all the things you need for a perfect beach experience. Beach chairs, towels, tent, toys, boogie boards, even a wagon, as well as, games, movies, and books in case it rains. We enjoyed or stay and would come again.

We were so impressed by this property and the communication with the owners that we’re already discussing a future summer vacation here. Everything was clean, as described, with labels and instructions making it easy to find anything we needed. I think of all the places we’ve stayed this one was the one was the best stocked and the thoughtful additions were so handy (all the grilling items, beach chairs, towels, shades, snacks, waters, dishwashing pods and laundry detergents, a first aid kit, keypad entrance etc…too many things to name). We recommend 100%!

This house is amazing. If you’re looking for clean, modern yet quaint, convenient location, and comfortable, this is the house for you! Less than a 2 minute walk to the beach, great view of the sound and great local shops and restaurants all within 5-10 minutes from the house. This was our first trip to Topsail Beach but definitely not our last. Brenda is an amazing host and gave us all the local inside information for restaurants and shops. All we can say is “wow”! What a memorable and great vacation at Topsail and we can’t wait for the next time.

I love Topsail and have been coming for years.
This is a great location and the home came with lots of little extras like bikes and toys and lots of chairs and very well equipped kitchen.
Downstairs bedrooms great for sleeping.

Our stay was going great and then we noticed in downstairs ceiling a water leak. It was steadily dripping down to dining area tile. I called host to let them know.
They were both so gracious and apologetic for inconvenience on our vacation. Thru face time host was able and to trouble shoot issue. We put some buckets and trash cans over area to collect water until he arrived the next morning to fix. Our family went to beach while host fixed problem. When we came back in afternoon everything was fixed and put back together.
They also went above and beyond anything we expected by buying a gift card to a great local restaurant for our entire family of 7 to dine in the last night of our stay. Plus they issued us a small credit back on Vrbo for the inconvenience. I would like to thank them both for the wonderful vacation and how they turned a negative situation into very positive experience.

We are happy we rented Sound's Great for a week stay in Topsail. House worked great for our family and had everything we needed except for clothes and food. Location is very quiet. Brenda was a great host and openly communicated from booking to checkout. If we ever are looking to return to Topsail, definitely would rent again.

We enjoyed our stay at Sound’s Great! It was so relaxing and the beach is only a few steps away from the house. The location is perfect because it’s close to the point and very quiet and minimal traffic yet close enough to all the shops and restaurants. We will be back!

The house, the island, the location, the host -- all were perfect. The house was exactly as pictured and described. It had all the amenities that we needed (including beach chairs, toys, a shelter, boogie boards, etc.). The two levels were perfect for our family of seven, with the oldest kids staying downstairs and the rest of the family upstairs. The hosts were accommodating and kind and met our every need. We can't wait to come back.

We enjoyed the spacious home, great if you’re looking for privacy in your party. I especially enjoyed the easy steps from reservation to check in, the host left notes and the kitchen was labeled to guide you leaving no questions to hassle with. Decor was beautiful with a beach vibe, the shed had everything handy for our grandson such sand bucks a few toys, a wagon for child or fishing, we didn’t have to bring along things you would normally need as they are there. Location is great very short walk to the beach, and I’m picky about that! Huge decks, our grandson enjoyed his little scooter in it. Great stay at “Sounds Great”.

This property is perfect if staying with another family. It offers two separate living spaces, so you are not all up on each other. The house is only a 3 minute walk to a beach access. Or if you want a more calm relaxing beach experience you can drive to the sound access point at the bottom of island. The house was fully stocked with household things (cleaning/dishes/laundry/paper products). The owner was very communicative and responded quickly with all my inquiries. Topsail beach is quiet and very family oriented. It is great to get away from the hustle and bustle and not be in a huge touristy area. We were very happy with our decision and look forward to staying here at this location again!

Fantastic family beach house
My family and I stayed here over the week of July 4th and had a really great time. The location is fantastic as it's just a few steps to get over to the beach, and the back deck has terrific views of the sound. Being in South TopSail was perfect for us as the beach was never crowded and it was nice a peacefull in the evenings. We loved hanging out on the back deck at the end of the day and watching the sunset and boats on the sound. Brenda and David were great hosts who were very responsive, offered great suggestions, kept in touch, and take care of a great house. Highly recommend this place!

Perfect for two families
We rented this place with our toddler and our friends with their two boys. It was terrific! The place was very clean and bright. A happy place to spend a week. All the modern touches were fabulous and we felt very well cared for. The sunset view on the back deck was a perfect place for dinner and drinks every night and very close walk to the most perfect beach. We rode the bikes, used the beach towels, surfed on the boogie boards and lounged in the chairs. We would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful Vacation!

This beautiful beach cottage has absolutely everything we could think of! So many thoughtful touches and amenities, and everything was labeled! This rental is great for a big family with older kids…our big kids stayed in the lower level, and they loved the privacy. The decor is a charming coastal modern with plenty of light and room to move around. Both decks offered views but our favorite was the view of the sound and sunset. The house came equipped with beach chairs, two bikes, and even a wagon to cart things to the beach. The walk to the beach is a short, pleasant stroll, and the beach access is one of the more manageable I’ve seen on the island (i.e., not a lot of steps.) since the house is just south of the tiny Topsail Beach town center it is a very quiet area with sparse traffic. The grill worked wonderfully, and we were able to park 4 cars in the driveway and yard. This is by far the most thoughtfully appointed VRBO we’ve ever stayed in! Trash bags, paper towels, toilet paper, soap, shampoo, keurigs, drip coffee and filters, dish soap, etc. all came with this delightful rental. Immaculate. This will definitely be our first choice when we return (we come at least a few times a year.) Brenda communicated throughout and was so helpful. This place is a GEM. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars!
