Amazing view of Mount Abang and the lake. Love soaking in the hot spring pool right outside the room that is emptied and refilled every morning with fresh clean springwater :) Staff were helpful and prompt to attend to my requests too. Comfy bed, hot shower, all great for a tranquil stay. Location is also close to the start of trekking route up Mt Batur. option of taking jeep to midpoint and trekking to top.
Breakfast was good and staff accommodated to my later timing. Day 1, i ordered vegetarian fried noodles which were done too salty for my tastes. After feedback, staff remembered my diet / taste preference and next day fried rice was done nicely with less salt ❤️😋
For transport to airport, best to arrange in advance either privately or with villa's owner. I had thought Grab will do but after booking they either cancelled or tried to get me to direct liaise via whatsapp, during which asking price was doubled as they would have to make an "empty" return trip. Grateful to villa owner's help to get me a driver in the end whose charges were more reasonable not as exhorbitant as the Grab drivers.
The route in can be quite rocky with turns and twists. Even with the skilled drivers, i experienced some motion sickness.

Water pressure - at times none at all, very poor.
Most of the time dribbling out barely enough to shower then sometimes super strong and burning hot for short periods.
Of the beaten track is putting it lightly, very bumpy road under construction and barely able to get through in a car.
Flies - this is not the fault of the hotel, but you should not underestimate just how many flies are in the area. I could also see tens of flies sitting on our hotel towels as they were drying.
