About this house rental
Nestled in Emerald Isle, this attractive house for $815 per night is a great option for your next trip. The Sandlot (Previously known as Dune Boys)- Stay right on the beach! Nestled just steps from the Atlantic Ocean is this completely updated 8 Bedroom, 4 Bathroom cottage that sports incredible views, an oceanfront pool, hot tub, and spacious oceanfront trex deck. The home is currently offered as a single family rental. Originally set up as duplex, a doorway INSIDE the home between the living rooms separates or connects the two sides. This allows you to enjoy and share your space, but also gives you the convenience and separation should you choose! (TWO kitchens, TWO Living spaces!) The layout includes two identical sides. This means there are two fully stocked kitchens (one on each side), and two family rooms (one on each side), with a doorway connecting the two sides that is accessible from inside the home. The home was renovated in 2022 to include brand new kitchen cabinets and countertops, new floors through the home, new paint, and a brand new master bathroom on both East and West sides spring 2023. New decking and new roof! The home feels brand new. Each master bedroom has a king bed, and its own, amazing, large private oceanfront covered balcony overlooking the pool and beach, with unobstructed views of the ocean. Each master bedroom has a brand new master bathroom put in the spring of 2023 with walk in shower, toilet, and single vanity. Overall, EACH side hosts: An OCEAN FRONT Master bedroom on the top floor, with private spacious balcony overlooking the pool and direct ocean views. A second bedroom upstairs with two sets of twin bunk beds (4 twin beds total) A third bedroom upstairs with queen bed. A play area/ lounge room with daybed (floor space here will fit a standard size pack-n-play). **This room hosts a retro video game system on each side that guests are welcome to enjoy!** A first floor bedroom (with queen bed), convenient to the first floor bathroom and kitchen. Totaling 8 bedrooms, 2 play/rec rooms, and 6 bathrooms. Fully fenced in pool area for an added safety measure. You can walk right to the beach access without needed to enter the pool area. Great for young kids. Pool and hot tub are professionally cleaned and maintained 1-2x per week depending on season. Pool can be heated for $650 per week, just let us know ahead of your stay if you'd like to add this! Custom pricing for shorter stays. High speed internet with Roku TVS Two sets of washer/dryers located underneath the home. Your very own private beach access. *Surveillance cameras are set up to view the front driveway parking lot.* Desirable location within 10 minutes of shopping and groceries. Emerald Isle Boat ramp is right across the street! We do have beach chairs that our guests are welcome to use. Linens including bed sheets and bath towels, along with Turn down service with beds made, and cleaning included with stay!

The home was very clean , and just steps from the beach , the heated pool and Hottub was awesome! The only thing I would suggest is that you bring dish towels and maybe a few bath towels and rags, there wasn’t many of those. But we had an amazing week and would definitely go back!

We had a wonderful time. The location couldn’t be better. Quick drive to town easy access to the beach very clean, updated amenities. It was so nice. We felt like we had our own space.

This was the perfect place for our family! We used the decks, pool and beach access every day. Having two kitchens was ideal since we have a family member with an extreme food allergy. Beautiful location and we enjoyed awesome sunrises and sunsets throughout the week.

We loved the location. Being right on the beach and having access to our own pool was definitely the key. The duplex was really great for the group we went with. A couple issues stemmed around empty propane tanks, although they came quickly to replenish just one of the 3, the cleaning needs work. Tons of dust and even bugs in one of the bunk beds (silver fish). We wished there were umbrellas at the pool for some reprieve from the sun. I tried calling one of the owners to talk about this, left a message with no response. Overall we really did have a great time there.

Wonderful family vacation week, beautiful ocean views! Our grandchildren not only enjoyed the beach, but the pool as well. This was our 2nd year in a row staying at this beach cottage, we are planning on returning next year!

We headed to Emerald Isle Beach for the first time Memorial weekend. Found the Sandlot and fell in love. The house is awesome. Duplex thats been totally updated and has a door connecting family rooms. Private and direct beach access, amazing decks, tons of parking, a pool and all very well equipped. Its changed our whole search criteria for any place we go. The managers/owners were very easy to deal with and the check in/out was about the easiest we've ever experienced. Highly recommend giving it a try.

We all thoroughly enjoyed everything, from the fantastic communication, your generous hospitality, and the well appointed (and extremely comfortable) accommodations. The heated pool was worth every penny, the hot tub was a huge hit, the rocking chairs were loved by all, the gates were certainly appreciated with a toddler, and the proximity of the beach couldn’t have been any better! We hope to return again soon 😊

Great location. Owners quickly responded to one small requirement. Beautifully updated, good space to spread out. Beds super comfortable. Water pressure in showers could be better. Grill needs some attention. But kitchens were well equipped. Can’t get any closer to the beach. Hot tub was amazing. Will definitely book again.

Our family has rented a beach home every summer for many years. This was the best yet! It felt like home for our growing extended family. It was super clean when we arrived and even had some necessities that most homes don’t provide (hand soaps, toilet paper, paper towels, etc.), so we didn’t need to run out asap to purchase them. The pool was great for the children when we weren’t on the beach. Overall an excellent stay and we hope to book again soon!

The beachfront location and the property having a pool was perfect with 4 grandchildren 5 and under. The layout of the house worked well. And the two kitchens came in handy as we mainly took turns cooking meal.
We had a couple minor issues that were taken care of very promptly!

The owner is fantastic, home is clean, beautiful, comfortable and the view is spectacular! From the beach, to the pool and then the hot tub and then heading to the patio for the view any and all of these could be enjoyed daily. The location of the home to the bike path to Restaurants, ice cream, stores, shopping, parks was great to have.!! We utilized that every day! The location of the house on the street it is on was so quiet and private from traffic. The inside of the home was so comfortable! We cared for it like it was ours and we hope everyone will so we can return soon! Our daughter and new son in laws wedding was even more wonderful because of this vacation home! Our Steelers player gives this vacation home 5 stars and so do we!

Wonderful family week in Emerald Isle at Dune about. Our first time in Emerald Isle and we loved it. Steps to the private pool and beach! Very clean house on both sides! We cooked in every night and didn’t need to bring anything for the kitchen except the food! Extremely easy check in and check out! All questions prior to the trip were answered within minutes! Dune Boys was the PERFECT rental spot for our 4 generation getaway. The location is spectacular! The house is spacious, exactly what we needed. 1st floor bed & full bath for great-grandparents, side-by-side connected duplex for privacy when needed (nap time for the youngins’), plenty of bathrooms upstairs (masters with balcony view) and dual cooking areas made this trip very uncomplicated. The vintage vibe was fun and working for all generations. The home was super clean and well accommodated.

It’s big & sits right on the pool deck, no better seat for a sunset. The pool is right on the dune next to the beach. Hot tub & pool were well maintained, perfect for a dip at the end of the beach experience and at night under the stars.
We also loved being able to grill - the grill was in great shape with plenty of room for the awesome fresh seafood that is readily available down the street (& not too hard to catch in the surf or on the sound side.) Our favorite restaurant was the Fish Hut Grill, very chill and the food was spectacular. Thanks to the owners too who were easy to deal with and very friendly.

Great location
Fantastic location, beautiful beach, spacious enough for our party of 11, ample parking. Great pool, bbq grill, hot tub all in good working condition.
The current owner just recently took over the property and I’m sure there are plans to address any issues. The house desperately needs a deep, to the bones, cleaning. Faucets are old, leaky, (especially in the West kitchen) and mildewy (all the bathrooms) the sliding door sticks to the point that they are going to come off the rails, things need some TLC. All of the fixtures, furniture and decor need replaced. The previous property manager told us the house was a little outdated but very clean and unfortunately it was very outdated and not very clean. Again the house is very recently under new ownership and hopefully has some renovations planned.

We had a wonderful time and would love to go back. The house is on a very quiet section of the beach and it was nice to have a pool as well. Shannon was great to work with. Very friendly and willing to help with anything we needed.

This property was great for our family vacation where we had family from up and down the east coast get together for a fun reunion. Having both sides giving us 2 kitchens worked very well for the 15 of us. The interaction with Shannon was easy and very helpful. Great vacation!

Perfect for our family!
I can not say enough good things about Dune Boys. The pictures simply do not do it justice. It is extremely clean which matters more these days than ever. The kitchens are both well appointed with everything that you could need. The bedrooms are well thought out with various sleeping configurations to accommodate a large family. The pool area is well kept and with the nearby outdoor shower the perfect respite after a day at the beach. And oh the beach - private, quiet, beautiful! We loved our stay and look forward to coming back. Big thanks to Shannon and Brian for great communication and ease of experience.

Amazing Time at An Amazing Location
If you want a beachfront location with an excellent view this is the spot for you. You can watch dolphins play in the waves from the deck or swim in the private pool to take a break from the sand. The house has everything you need for a relaxing week or weekend. Many rooms have been updated and it has great beach decor. All of the rooms have plenty of space so you can sleep in comfort. Beds are comfortable and the house is extremely clean. Shannon did a great job communicating with us and made sure we were comfortable before, during and after our stay. We’ve already inquired into days next year. We plan to make Dune Boys our vacation destination for the foreseeable future!

Worked so well for this crew. Early to bed on one side, dirty stay-ups on the other. Able to keep the dogs apart with no problem. An A/C problem was immediately attended to. Cleaning crew didn't get the nooks and crannies, but overall a great stay.

I stayed here with my friends and also my two dogs ,and we had a wonderful time! The place has an amazing view, Great outside and inside seating, beds were comfortable and Brian and Shannon with angelfish properties are wonderful people to deal with! Highly recommend checking this place out we will definitely be back!
