A bit isolated for other food options

The staff are very friendly and helpful, the restaurant was great for all meals.

We stayed at Alam Wayang Ubud as a family of four — two adults, an 8-year-old, and a 15-year-old — in a two-bedroom villa for four nights in August 2026. The property is small, with only a handful of villas, and is surrounded by beautiful jungle-like nature. All of the staff work incredibly hard to keep the place spotless and to provide exceptional service. We would not want to single out individuals because every member of the team contributes in their own way to making the property feel like a peaceful haven. Breakfast is freshly prepared each morning and is truly exceptional. We also enjoyed lunch and dinner at the restaurant, where the food was freshly cooked, delicious, and very reasonably priced — 5 out of 5 stars. The welcome setup before arrival gave us such a warm feeling and made a lasting impression that we will never forget. Our villa had its own private pool, which was fantastic. The children loved it so much that they now want one at home. The location of the property is unique, set on a hill and accessible by walking, scooter, or the hotel’s golf cart, which was always available when needed. Because of this peaceful location, the only sound we heard when waking up was birds singing. At the same time, the property is very conveniently located: it is about a 15-minute walk to the centre of Ubud and around a 7-minute walk to the large Bintang supermarket, where you can buy almost everything you need. Other activities around Ubud were also easy to reach by taxi. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would happily recommend Alam Wayang Ubud to anyone looking for a peaceful, welcoming, and memorable place to stay in Ubud.

Very nice pool and super kind staff

A lot of mould in the room and also in the air conditioning the walls paint would come off because of mould. Not very good food. Moreover I paid for the included breakfast and I still had to pay if I wanted a coffee
