House was clean and well suited for a stay near Chicago and surrounding areas.

Very nice accomodations. No issues or concerns. Would stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay at this cute and clean home. The fenced in backyard was perfect for our two small dogs that travel with us. Listing was accurate, home was well equipped, and all instructions were clear and concise. Next time we are in Chicago, we will hope to book here again!

House was comfortable and accommodating

Comfortable and had everything we needed. 7 stairs to get into bungalow were a challenge -- thank goodness for the handrails. Husband uses walker and cane and without handrails we would have had to go elsewhere. Thanks for a lovely home.

This was a great house for our family (3 boys. Ages 11, 11, 7) to stay in for a long weekend trip to check out some Chicago highlights. The bedrooms were comfortable, everything was clean and homey feeling! Appreciated the nightlight in the bathroom. Shower had plenty of hot water for everyone to shower after a long day of sightseeing.
My boys enjoyed playing catch in the backyard and the neighborhood was quiet and very safe feeling. Parking was convenient in the back alley.
My only "complaint" was lack of a clock in the living/dining room and bedrooms, only the stove/microwave clocks. My one kiddo is an early riser, but knows to stay in bed until atleast 6am; he missed his digital clock. So maybe we are just used to having them in every room at our own house. Ha!
We ate at Lou Malnati's Pizzeria - deep dish pizza and pasta hit the spot! It was close by, parking was easy and food/service was excellent!!
I would definitely recommend this location and house again!! Thank you for sharing ypur house with us!

The property was perfect for my son and I to explore local restaurants and an Uber ride away to the city each day.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this well appointed home. The listing is very accurate and the property is well suited to adults or families or those traveling with a pet. Great location with easy access to the expressway as well as public transportation. Close to the lovely Oak Park downtown as well. We were comfortable and had a well equipped kitchen for our meals. A very enjoyable place to be. We hope to stay again someday!

The property is in a nice quiet neighborhood. The cleanliness itself can be improve a little bit, along with having enough supplies (trash bags, coffee filter, frying pan). Overall stay was good.

I would give this property 10 stars if I could. Check-in was flawless. We arrived on a hot day in July and the house was blissfully cool and remained so during our entire stay. The home was spotless and had every amenity you could possibly need, including a washer and dryer in the basement. We brought our dog, so the fenced yard was great for us. I also walked him daily and the neighborhood is beautiful and very safe and friendly. The El train is just three blocks away and takes you to the heart of the Loop, where you can make connections to anywhere in the city. There are three grocery stores very nearby, two within easy walking distance. There's a cute little pub a half block away with great burgers and cold beer and an outdoor patio. There are many, many restaurants within a short walk also. We had no need to contact the owners but their contact info was made available to us. Overall we highly recommend this cozy little home and plan on returning next summer!

We had a great time at this house. It is in a good location. Walkable neighborhoods. On sight parking is a huge plus. The house matched the description. I would stay here again if we come back to Chicago.

Me and my two adult daughters picked this place to stay while we were in town to see Taylor Swift at Solider Field. Everything worked out well. We weren't too far from the venue but out of the city enough and where it felt safe.
The house was great. Easy instructions to get in. Place was very spacious and clean. We didn't need to get too comfortable, but we could if we wanted. Great cozy house. Each one of us had our own bed, they were comfortable.
Very happy with our stay. My daughter said "if we come back to Chicago, can we just stay here again?" And we will if it's available.
Thank you!

We were totally satisfied with the house. All of the directions were logical and easy to understand. The house was clean and had everything we needed. We would definately stay here again.

We were attending a wedding in Chicago and this location was perfect. It was close to shopping, which came in handy when we figured out we didn’t have some things that we needed and we could walk over to target. They were restaurants nearby, but we didn’t get an opportunity to use them. The house itself was clean and most of the things that we needed were provided. There was no iron and that was the only thing that was inconvenient for us. I recommend staying here, but make sure that you have a handheld steamer or something if you are going to be dressing up

Absolutely immaculately maintained property on quiet and peaceful residential street and perfect location for shopping and dining in downtown Oak Park! This was my second time I stayed at this home and I look forward to returning!

If you are vacationing with a family with dogs, this is probably one of the best options you could find for your Chicago vacation. This beautiful home is located in a very convenient and safe neighborhood just outside of Chicago. The house has a sizable backyard for the children and doggos to play. The train station is a 5 minute walk from the house, and the rail ride into downtown Chicago was around 20 minutes. We got a train/bus day pass for about $3 each. The Chicago transit system is very easy to navigate. The local downtown, which is where the train station is located, has some good restaurants and shops. Overall, great experience, and we’ll be booking again for our next Chicago trip!

We had a lovely stay! The house is really nice and in a great location, it made visiting our family super easy! We brought our two small dogs and they were very happy as well, especially with the fenced yard. Thank you for a great stay!

My husband and I took our three children (12, 7, 6) on their first trip to Chicago. We wanted a house big enough that the kids had bedroom space and that was close to the L to avoid driving into the city. This house was perfect. The bedrooms are just the right size - luggage fit, but things didn’t get lost, the kitchen had everything we needed to cook tacos and spaghetti, the bathroom had more hot water than our own home, and you couldn’t beat the three minute walk to the L. The neighborhood is quiet, but still active enough that it feels safe and lived in. Getting to the house from the interstate was a snap and having off street parking was great. The house is cozy and feels like a home, but at the same time doesn’t feel like you’re invading someone else’s space. We would stay here again in a heart beat. Thank you, Jim and Michelle, for sharing your home!

Needed to come to Chicago for the week to assist a site for work. Traveled here w/ husband, adult daughter, and dog This location was perfect and we felt very safe. The home was very cozy, clean, well managed. The fenced yard was perfect for our dog. Easy travel to center city Chicago at night. Visited Navy's Pier and Millennium Park. Some of Andrew Lloyd Wright homes he designed right up the road. The home was perfect for our needs. Hope to return.

Needed a place for 10 days and this home offered a quiet but conveniently located place to stay. Everything was clean. It was however difficult to enter the home on. January evening when it's very dark, all exterior lights were off and we had to find out way in with phone flashlights. All that said, would definitely recommend and stay again!

Nice and clean. Would stay again

This is a great location and the home has anything you need. It is not like other VRBO properties where it is furnished just to rent. This is more a home with more in the kitchen than you will need. It has been renovated, but is still charming. We highly recommend it.

Couldn't ask for a more convenient location. A quick walk to the station to head downtown (and only about a 30 minute ride), walking distance to some cool local bars, and easy to find! Excellent stay for 3 high school buddies. Would absolutely recommend and stay here again!

What a wonderful place to stay. Cute neighborhoods very up and coming area! The simplicity and thoughtfulness of the homeowners care is so very welcoming. It was easy to move in for a couple days and feel like we were at home. My 6 year old loved the bedroom with the bed low to the ground. Perfect for her size she decorated the room with her stuffed animals from home and slept soundly all night here. She also had a fun picnic at the front porch childrens table and chairs with her stuffed friends. It was fun exploring the the nearby attractions. Close walk to the green line that took us to catch the bus for the event we were in town for. We really felt like locals in this home. Even ordered some Chicago pizza delivery! Thanks so much for sharing your home Jim. You are beyond appreciated! Memories of a lifetime were made during our lovely stay! God bless!

Perfect location, spacious house. Everything that you could wish for. 3 bedrooms are not so easy to find, so that was one extra bonus.

We enjoyed our time at Jim’s house. It’s perfectly located, short drive by car or train to Chicago or Naperville, where we visited friends.
Whole Foods is a 5 minutes walk away. There a plenty options also in Oak Park, nice restaurants. The house was very clean and beautiful inside. The interior is tasteful and gives you a relaxed feeling. Internet was perfect too, my husband worked during the week remote and was happy how reliable it has been. We felt also very safe in this neighborhood. Thanks for everything!

Four of us enjoyed our stay in this clean, conveniently located home. We felt very safe in the area and there were plenty of options for shopping and food. Jim was so helpful and very easy to communicate with. We will definitely be back if we find ourselves in the area again.

This property is exactly as described. Jim is very easy to work with. We called him to see if we could enter the property since we had arrived a little early. He returned our call within minutes. This property is very clean and well furnished. The welcome booklet was very descriptive and was an aid to get our vacation started off right. The parking space at the rear of the property is a huge bonus. Our dog loved the fenced-in backyard. Jim also includes a dog blanket to protect the furniture. Our dog loved the blanket. The neighborhood is safe and well taken care of despite most of the buildings being around 100 years old.
There are plenty of shops, pubs, coffee shops, and restaurants within either walking distance or a few minutes drive. Goldyburgers around the corner (400 foot walk) is highly recommended. We also loved George's (5 minute drive) for breakfast.
Everything in the house was functional. The home had everything we needed. We have rented several properties in the past through VRBO and this one was the most well furnished rental we have ever encountered. I cannot think of anything more that we would have wanted. The hosts were accommodating to us and you can tell they take a lot of pride in their home. We cannot thank them enough for going the extra mile to ensure people who rent their property have a wonderful vacation. If only every VRBO property and host was like this one. This is the reference standard for Chicago!

Sorry for the late review, we happened to come home to Hurricane Ian.
I'm from Chicago, and brought my 19 and 18 year old sons to the city for the first time. This home was clean and in beautiful condition and in a great neighborhood and location. Close to the train, close to I-290, not too far from O'Hare, and yet only 5 minutes into the city. We honestly could not have asked for a better place to stay during our trip. It felt like home. This is the first property I will check on for my next Chicago trip.

Traveled with two other adults for a wedding. Lots of room to spread out and for each of us to have our own bedroom. Photos are accurate, and the house is even more spacious than the pictures indicate. Beautifully decorated, quiet, and nice to have off-street parking. Kitchen is well stocked with condiments so we were able to eat in a few times. The local neighborhood is charming and walkable, with many groceries, shops, and restaurants not more than five minutes away. Metra train station to Chicago an easy walk. Wi-fi worked great.
All in all a terrific base for a wonderful Chicago getaway.

The owners were very responsive to any and all communications. They even went out of their way and rearranged their house cleaning schedule so that I could check in a day earlier than expected. They did so based on a last minute request from me. I was very grateful for this because I was traveling with my dog Rocco. There is off street parking and a really nice backyard space that is a perfect outdoor space to enjoy. The house was very clean and had great kitchen and dinning areas along with three bedrooms and a living room. The air conditioning worked great and so did the heat. The local neighborhood is safe and quiet and gives you access to everything from Whole Foods, local pubs, and even fine dining within walking distance. I was attending a conference downtown and uber was at the house within 5 minutes and my trip downtown took less than 20 minutes. I think this house is a great place to stay for work or play when exploring the greater Chicago area. Really comfortable house with with hosts that went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed. Thanks for a great time!

We enjoyed our stay in an older, but updated 3 br house in a nice neighbor hood. Parking is nice, there is a garage for storing travel items out of your car and room for a big SUV in the parking area ON the property, not the street. The owners were very responsive to any questions we had, and the place was very clean and well stocked with towels, linens, dishes etc. We did not have a need for non food items at all. The AC's in each room provided plenty of comfort during our late august early sept stay. We had a small fur baby with us who was able to run around in the fenced in yard, and the owners are pet friendly. There are food and water bowls as well as doggie blankets for use on the furniture. The home is older, but updated. The only issue was an indoor camera that was pointed near the front door we weren't comfortable with. However as soon as we asked about it, we were informed it was for use when the home was empty for security and we were instructed to unplug it, which we understood. We will definitely consider booking here again, hopefully next year.

We loved the place. It was convenient to downtown by the rail and then bus around downtown. The whole house is so clean and very inviting. It’s a great place to stay.

This is an immaculate home located in a charming neighborhood within walking distance of 2 vibrant downtown areas. Home was well stocked & very nicely decorated. The hosts were accessible, but not intrusive. Highly recommend this property for couples, families, & groups.

Loved the house and location
Enjoyed the house for our stay over the 4th of July. Nice neighborhood and so close to grocery stores (Whole Foods and Jewel/Osco), the EL stop on the green line, and downtown Oak Park.
Parking spot behind the house in the alley made for easy access. Alley was clean and well maintained.
House is older but updated and met all of our needs. Bedrooms are arranged in a shotgun style with the biggest towards the front and the kitchen in the back. House does not have central a/c but there are window units in the living room and each of the bedrooms. There are also ceiling fans in each of the bedrooms. Net result was that the house was plenty cool during our stay during the middle of the summer.
A nice feature was the hallway door that can separate the two back bedrooms from the living room and front bedroom.
West side inner suburb location is convenient to so many things. When there is no traffic (weekends and holidays), it is a 10-15 minute drive to the Sourh Loop area. When there is traffic, it can be a 30-40 minute crawl. Also close by are the Frank Lloyd Wright sites in Oak Park and Brookfield Zoo.
Would definitely stay here again when we return to Chicago.

Wonderful stay!
We had a great time at James’ place while visiting family in the area. It was central to downtown Chicago and had a cute downtown of it’s own. The neighborhood was very well kept and safe and the house itself is clean, comfortable and very cute. The pictures really didn’t do it justice and we were very pleasantly surprised. We would definitely come back!

The owners of this property are clearly very organized and detail oriented! The place had everything our family of 5 could need: it was clean, comfortable, and perfectly located to all the areas around Oak Park. The check in and out process was very simple, we hardly had to do much to leave. The washer and dryer in the basement was a big plus too! EVrything is so easily labeled and explained, and they left all the instructions in multiple places. We never had to contact them for anything, which is a VRBO first for us. We would gladly stay again!
