About this house rental
Welcome to the Plover Retreat, a cozy cabin in Grand Marais. Our cute two bedroom plus sleeping porch cabin, is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy nature. Enjoy quality bedding and towels as you 'rough it' in our cute cabin. Though only a few minutes from town, our cabin and its surrounding yard feel secluded and private. Enjoy the first cup of coffee in the morning on our deck and watch the humming birds zip around looking for food. Lazy, quiet days lend themselves to reading a book or putting together a puzzle on the enclosed porch while still getting to enjoy the scene outside.
Just a short walk from our property is the beach access for one of Lake Superiors prettiest spots: five to ten minutes on foot turn right on H-58 towards town, turn right on Ellen Street to a public beach. Sugary sand and shallow water for swimming meet up with the mouth of the Sucker River; the perfect spot to spend an afternoon.
As the day wears on and night fall begins, be sure to enjoy a small camp fire under the stars. Roast some marsh mellows, sing songs or tell a few tales of times gone by. Reconnect with family and friends and enjoy a slower paced life on vacation with us.
Seasonal property available May 1 thru November 1 only.

This was a good location for Grand Marias exploring. As I drove up I realized the pic from the Ad is the other side of the house, I walked around to make sure I was in the right place. It's older with alot of wood but cute decorations and pretty much everything we needed. It's small but functional. The the screened porch that is turned into a bedroom/living room is fine as long as you dont want alot of privacy, it's a partial wall, doesnt go all the way to the ceiling and door that does not completely close off the bedroom space. It was fine for two of us but if you were stuck inside because of weather and there were more that 2 people it would be difficult to watch TV because the room has just a small 2 person sofa and a chair that doesnt face the TV. It had a nice play area with games under the bunk bed in one bed rooms. We ended up cutting our stay short by a day. the first night was fine but the second night we started noticing mosquitoes and they got progressivly worse as the night went on, keeping is up and next morning was not tolerable to even sit and enjoy coffee so we packed up and went home. The windows were shut so I dont know where they were coming from. This is the first week of June and the mosquitos were bad pretty much any where there were woods and water so that may have something to do with that. We enjoyed it up to then.
