Martha on reception was so lovely. She facilitated my daughter & myself. I had a very nasty fall on arrival & she was very concerned & so helpful. The room was spacious, AC was excellent, drinking bottled water provided & kettle & Nespresso machine with a mini fridge. The shower was fabulous 👌 Tissues on the bedside lockers were thoughtful as were the reading lights by the bed. Spectacular view of Athens & the Acropolis from the rooftop area. Area is very central.

The area outside the hotel appeared quite run down with alot of graffiti & my daughter (23 years) was nervous. However, the area was safe & we had no problems. The roads are narrow & we had to walk a few minutes for pick up / collection for the various tours we went on. I'm struggling to find things i didn't like tbh - hotel was great value & staff were lovely

It was super hot and the air conditioning felt it was struggling.

The location of the hotel is great. It's a ten minute walk to Monastiraki Square, but far enough away that you can easily escape the tourist chaos. If you stay on a weekday, it's also right next to the main food market, which is worth visiting in its own right. The staff were also perfectly pleasant. We were able to leave our bags after we checked out, for example. Plus, there was a kettle in the room with two mugs and a couple of glasses, which was useful.

So... The room was tiny and there wasn't space to open up our suitcase. It didn't help that there was a huge armchair far too big for the space and useless when there are two of you and a perfectly comfortable bed to sit on. Gah. It was also poorly designed; it has a highly functional minimalist aesthetic without in fact functioning in any way useful to the average traveller. For instance, the only accommodation for personal items in the bathroom is a narrow plastic trough attached to the mirror and big enough for a couple of toothbrushes and some paste. The basin has no surround, so there's nowhere to put your face wash or whatever. It's doubly frustrating because there's a great bare wall right begging for a handy shelf! The bathroom also floods every time you shower. This wouldn't be a problem if the water made it into the drain, but instead it collects around the wall and trickles under the door into the bedroom. The temperature was also a bit of an issue. Guests are forbidden from touching the aircon, which the hotel sets to 'cooling' in summer and 'warming' in winter. We stayed in July and found the temperature on the chilly side - between 20 and 22 degrees. Another thing you notice though is the smell. Between joss-sticks in the lobby, industrial strength cleaning products, or underlying unnameable whiff, it's hands down the stinkiest place I've stayed. And finally... the lift situation. There's a single lift for an eight-floor building and it's tiny; it fits two couples if only one of them has any luggage. If your suitcase is heavy and you can't use the stairs, check out time is a proper disaster.
