Fantastic location! The apartment is right next to a shopping mall with plenty of food and dining options, and just a short distance from Beijing Road, Guangzhou’s main pedestrian shopping street. There are also plenty of attractions nearby, including the Big Buddha Temple, memorial hall and parks. The metro station is conveniently close too, making it a great base for exploring the city.
The main downside was the check-in experience. The entrance serves four different operators, so guests need to pay close attention to ensure they check in with the correct provider. Reception staff were also rather unfriendly and abrupt, particularly when handling payment.
I contacted the property beforehand to confirm whether early check-in was possible and was advised that 2 pm was the standard check-in time, which I accepted. However, upon entering the room after 2pm, I was told the cleaner had not finished. The room was initially messy and had an unpleasant smell. The cleaner did her best to tidy it up, but for the price charged, I would have expected a more professional standard of housekeeping.
The rooms are spacious, but the amenities are dated. Despite advertising a kitchenette, there were no cutlery or basic washing-up supplies provided, making it less practical than expected.
Overall, I would recommend this property primarily for its excellent location, but manage your expectations. In my opinion, it is closer to a three-star than a higher-rated accommodation experience.
