The setting was beautiful. The rooms were very comfortable. The swimming pool area was lovely. The restaurant at the pool and the crocodile bay restaurant were nice.
The fancy restaurant was overpriced and the food wasn’t great. Very few options for someone with an egg allergy.

Ideal location on the outskirts of Puerto Jiminez, a short walk into town and the boat jetty at Crocodile Bay
Its over a month after our stay and despite me paying our bill on departure they are still hanging on to my credit card deposit of £996.00 as a pending / hold payment that they wont release. This means my available credit limit is nearly £1000 down and my card company can't raise a dispute over pending payment. Come on Botanika and please sort yourselves out with your payment administration and deposit release!

Rooms were luxury
Overpriced and bad location if you want to leave hotel on foot.

A quality resort with a fishing angle. It has its own pier and fleet of boats. Good restaurant and little more could be provided. Spacious rooms with balcony overlooking the pool which has its own bar.
If you’re happy in the environment of loud fat people wearing baseball caps standing in large groups in the pool drinking margaritas talking about themselves, this is for you. If you have no interest in fishing this is not for you. As it happens I do and there was loads of fish off their pier but guess what, I wasn’t allowed to fish and was told as such in no uncertain terms. For what it cost (and it was expensive) I thought a little discretion might have allowed guests to fish off the pier.
