Great location, super friendly staff, beautiful facilities, great food in the restaurant, love the black beer. The room was delightfully Swiss and super cozy. We had a shared bathroom/shower situation and they were always clean and free and stocked with stuff you might need. Breakfast was minimal but fine (given the situation in Gimmelwald). I've stayed at all the places one can stay in Gimmelwald and this has been my favorite!
As usual in Switzerland, the flies can be a lot to deal with but it wasn't as bad here as it is other places. And they give you a fly swatter in the room which helps a lot. :)

The whole atmosphere here and the location is very specail. A very happy place and unforgettable experience. Food is great to as is the local beer.

It is authentic, set in an absolutely stunning setting!
The view from the balcony was cinematic!
The ceiling was low, as is sometimes the case in older homes and buildings….my 6’3’’ husband had to duck!
