Definitely not worth the price we paid. Owner is hostile if you disagree with anything.

We rented this apartment in Rome based on the photos and description of a "superior" accommodation, paying €552 for two nights, for what appeared online to be a bright, charming, and comfortable apartment. Unfortunately, the reality was very different. The lobby and interior walkway were lined with multiple garbage bins, creating an unpleasant smell that greeted us when we entered and left the building. The path leading up to the apartment was very dark and uninviting. The apartment itself was nothing like the bright and welcoming space shown in the photos. Instead, it felt dark, dingy, and in desperate need of renovation. Calling this a "superior" apartment is a stretch. The bathroom is in definite need of a renovation. The shower was not what I would want to wash in and felt more like a closet than a proper bathroom. Among the many issues we encountered were: A broken toilet seat in the bathroom. A shower that was in poor, substandard condition. A bathroom window that would not close properly, allowing insects and bugs to enter the apartment. An old, lumpy, uncomfortable bed that squeaked excessively and was clearly in need of replacement. An entranceway that was extremely poorly lit, making access difficult and potentially unsafe, even during daylight hours. The overall condition of the apartment was worn, neglected, and entirely inconsistent with the photographs and description used to market the property. My husband was particularly upset by the obvious discrepancy between what was advertised and what we actually received for what we paid was not fair. We felt misled and deceived by the presentation of the accommodation. What made the experience even more frustrating was the owner's attitude. When I politely explained that the apartment did not meet our expectations and was not accurately represented online, he was hostile and dismissive. He refused to acknowledge our concerns or offer any form of compensation.
