We were a group of 5 adults visiting the gardens of Sissinghurst and Great Dixter. The property is charming, well equipped and in a great location. We had plenty of space to divide into groups or be together depending on the mood. Shops and restaurants are only a short drive away.

The property is pleasant, if in some places slightly dilapidated, with decent sized rooms set in beautiful countryside. It’s a shame the hosting made us feel uncomfortable.
For £375 a night plus an extortionate £150 cleaning fee plus additional fees (pets, cots etc), not to mention the £300 damage deposit, I was expecting a pristine newly renovated property which might have warranted the hoops I was required to jump through prior to arrival. The pre and post stay process is run by a corporate and this along with the pages long lists of rules we were required to adhere to, did not for a relaxing holiday make! To top it off, the host lives next door and when I took the dog and my young daughter through the property’s side gate, as a safe route to a bridlepath that cuts through his property, I got told I should’ve taken them both via the busy dangerous road instead. Warm and welcoming are not words I would use for the whole experience.
