I greatly enjoyed my time at the guest house! The owner was the highlight of my stay. He speaks fluent English and seems genuinely interested in talking with travelers. We ended up chatting late into the night about all kinds of things.
I stayed for one night on my way to Mt Yoshino. When I visited, only one other guest was there, so I had a room to myself by happenstance. It was comfortable enough, easy to reach from the train station, felt quite safe, and was nearby a mall and a few restaurants. I had a good meal and met some nice locals at えびす亭. (But heads up - they only take cash and PayPay.)
I highly encourage other international travelers and English-speakers to seek out this accommodation!
The only potential negative I wanted to flag is that the beds are quite hard. Although they are on frames, the mattress itself is a thin futon and didn’t cushion the wood much. I still slept well enough myself, but others might find it more difficult to get comfortable.

宿泊当日は部屋に1人でしたので深夜の帰りも気にせず過ごせました。
友人と飲む時に寝るだけなら利用する価値あり。
朝は古墳まで散歩してからチェックアウト。
使い捨ての歯ブラシがあれば嬉しかったです。

オーナーさんがとても親切で、市内観光について詳しく教えて頂きました。
部屋やお風呂洗面所も清潔に管理されていました。

水が手に入る(水道水)
宿主さんが気さくな方で聞いたら答えてくださる。
たぶんそういうものなんだろうと思うけど、こうだったら良かったなという感想です。
・荷物置き場が少ない
お風呂やベッド周囲に棚がほしいなと思った。
お風呂はどこに着替えの服を置いたらいいのかわからなかった。(洗濯機のフタの上に置かせてもらった)
ベッド上の段から荷物落っことしてしまったので、地べた付近に棚がほしいです…(落としたのは歯ブラシ。軽いものでよかった)
・できれば鍵付きロッカーが使えたら嬉しいなと思った。
ベッド上しか自分のスペースがない上、部屋は鍵無しなので盗難とか不安だなと思った。
・ベッドの下の段にはカーテンがあると良いだろうなと思った。(ベッド下段は丸見えなので寝そべってるのも荷物も全部見える。はしご登る時に嫌でも目に入る。申し訳なかった)
・ゲストハウスのルールがわかる冊子が置かれてると自分は助かる。
ちょっと人見知りというか、あんまり人に聞きすぎるのはな…と思うタイプなので、ゴミ捨てのルールやゲストハウス内で使える物品、部屋に備わっているもの等が説明された冊子があったら助かったな、と思った。

・手洗い場は一つしかないので順番待ち。
朝のタイミングが被ると大変だろうなと思う。
(他の人より朝早かったので困らなかった)
・ベッドきしきしするので上の段の人が移動するたび下の段の人は煩いかもしれない。逆も然り。下の人が貧乏ゆすりするとすわ地震か！？となる。ちょっとこわかった。
・他の人のトイレの音丸聞こえする。
