Friendly staff, good location, welcome/free drink each day, decor/coziness of the space, and the cutest, softest, sweetest cats ever!!

Loved my stay (again, this was my second visit)! Thanks again and looking forward to visit here again! Every day a free drink is a bonus, every evening I had the chance to speak with fellow travelers or local Japanese people who visited the bar.

Bed was very comfortable and the area has a relaxed suburban feel. The two cats were cute.
The location was really challenging for me. It's about 10min walk from a station which isn't so bad but then another 15mins to train to the city centre. So that's an extra hour of commuting daily if you are wanting to see the main tourist sites and attractions. The hostel is also quite small so there's not a huge chance you can meet people to hang out with for your stay. Adding to that, when I was there, most people were nice enough but they were quite independent travellers so just in case it's probably best if you're happy to be an independent traveller too. Also there was one toilet upstairs for all the dorms to share which was usually occupied, and when it wasn't I couldn't actually use it because there wasn't enough space to sit lol... But the toilet downstairs was normal and showers were good. And there wasn't too much space in the dorm room (4 person) for luggage so you could only open one suitcase at a time and most suitcases needed to be stored under the beds when not being accessed.
