Good communication before and host around at the hostel for further help. A good sized, well equipped shared kitchen. Quiet location with green views. Nice breakfast of 2 small pancakes and 1 piece of fruit cooked by host. Rooms, kitchen and fridge clean. Host was always friendly and helpful. There is only one collectivo boat per day that you can catch to Livingston at 9.30am to catch the one afternoon boat back if you want to do it in a day. There is a second boat from Rio in the afternoon. If you miss 9.30am it is very expensive for private boat return about 100 US dollars or more. Although you can have a tailor-made itinerary. 2 hours in Livingston was enough. Others I spoke to who stayed overnight regretted it. The beaches are not clean. It is interesting but not a Caribbean paradise! People are friendly. No communal oil to use for cooking, but for price ok. A large supermarket on main road about 10 mins away. Smaller shops closer.
Freezer had mould in it, but would be easy to clean. From the bus station you need to walk along the main road which is very busy with trucks. There is no pavement (sidewalk) although safe enough if you are careful. About 30 mins walk. Tuk tuks available in the day. Although probably for other accommodation you would still need to walk along main road anyway. Toilets difficult to flush properly. Would be good to have boat info on wall. Especially to say only one collectivo at 9.30am for day trip. Good if host tells everyone about boat so they don't miss it and pay a lot of money.

Very nice staff who dealt with our late arrival due to problems with the buses. The room was lovely, breakfast was good. Very clean.
No hot water in the shower was a disappointment.
