Shocking.

Not much.

Not even room , tiny space, subdivision for privacy. You pay upfront, no refunds so it's a scam. Lady living with kid, leaving diaper in open trash bin for days. Place stinks. 1 pillow, old linen. Tiny blanket to keep warm. Old towel. I wouldn't stay there again if someone paid me. Read the comments from previous and responses. Get what you paid it seems the general remark. Well if that the case the owner should not be handling customers. It was a disgrace. Booking.com should check what people place in site. If this what booking.com are happy to keep providing, I will no longer be customers. When walked in, I knew it was going to be a long 3 weeks, I got plenty pictures to back up any statement. That owner should not rent that space out.

Bad experience for a tourist. Never again

Nothing. I stayed there for 2 days but I paid the 14 days stay and the home owner didn't even gave a me at least a small refund

It was my first night in Canada last September 15. After 2 days, I decided not to go back in his place. I told the homeowner I'm not comfortable with my roommate (he talked loudy and moved with no consideration like there's no one with him inside the room). I continously communicated this with the home owner. As I've told the home owner this reason, I asked for a refund, but he told me that I just used his home address for immigration purposes (this wasn't true). I have relatives and friends inside Canada. If I wanted to stay with them, booking a room is never an option. He also suggested to stay at his second house, but I decided not to because it was too far from the places I wanted to go. Saying that I only used his address just because I wanted to get inside Canada was a little bit offensive. I visited the country for purely tourism as I wanted to experience what Canada could offer me. I also felt threatened because he told me that he will tell this to an immigration officer. I was confused and shocked, so I talked to my relatives (Canadian citizen) and told them the incident. They asked me to meet the homeowner and invite him to come with them to the Canada immigration but I told them it's not necessary. I just wanted to have a good place to stay while I'm having a good time inside Canada. That's all. I. Will. Never. Book. To. This. Accommodation. Again

In general it was good but very far from downtown (about 90min with public transportation)

The ceiling in the basement, where the shared rooms were, was very thin. It was hard to sleep as long as people were awake upstairs.

Close to the venue we are attending Price was right Quit and safe neighborhoods Quick response and helpfulness by the host Bed was comfortable and we slept well

cheap option bus right in front of the property (but keep in mind it’s still 2+ hours away from Toronto)

1. Bad hygiene. A smell of fungal will welcome you once you step into the room. There were like 300 stains on the carpet. Guests were not allowed to wear shoes in the house. And I felt extremely disgusted stepping on the carpet in my room. (Please, if you never clean the carpet, just throw it) 2. Host has been unnecessarily rude and aggressive, for no reason since the moment I arrived. Quite the opposite from all the good reviews here (if he was driving, just don’t pickup the phone. No point to pickup the phone just to yell at someone for 30 seconds and hang off without giving any help) 3. Hidden fees/unlisted charge. The host insisted to impose a “late check in fee” for 15$/hour - for a completely SELF-CHECKIN! He asked me to call him when I arrived, and use this unnecessary step as the source of charging me a late check in fee. (if the host had sent me the correct door I wouldn’t even need any contact with him) I have been using Booking.com for more than 6 years, over 80 different properties and this was the first time I got charged a late check in fee for self-checkin. 4. Other guest talking loud and doing laundry at 4 A.M. Yes, there is a “house rule” of quite hour from 10PM-7AM but that still happens almost every night 5. Sketchy “security deposit” policy. The host refused to give back my deposit of $50 after checking out. My Booking message was broken so I cannot reply his message on the App, the host used this as an excuse to not give back my deposit. And be very careful he would be making up any possible excuse to scam you more money. (please refer to the image below, a private message he sent me with the number correlate on the listing, blackmailing for another $150 cleaning fee) I have taken photos and videos as proof that I left the room as “clean” as it was when I checked out 6. Due to the hygiene conditions did not meet my expectations, I volunteer check out one day earlier and gave up the last day. Booked another hotel to stay.

I like that the place is affordable.

A day before checkout date, I extended the stay for five more days and paid cash CAD 225. But, I was unable to stay. So, on the other day I asked for a refund. He just refunded me CAD 50. It was a bad experience for me.

The location is perfect, it's quiet to sleep and the public transportation is one block away, so you can go to downtown very easily, you have a Tim Hortons breakfast less than 100 meters and a McDonald's at 300 meters. The room is big, also the bathroom and the rest of the accommodations. The host was very respectful and helpful, he help me to find some interesting places and he was always aware of my needs.

Location of the house: in a quiet place, there are shops, cafes, a gas station, and a bus stop nearby. There is a place for car parking. Thanks for the kindness of the owner. According to the availability of places in the house, it offers different options and displays. Choose what you like. The kitchen is large and has a bath and shower. What is necessary for stay and residence. And plus, it's a house made for rent. Not an apartment. Thank you for your stay. I recommend.

Great host, useful amenities, inexpensive, something could be better, overall great experience

The kindest host I could ask for. I was one of the new property's first guests, and you could feel how some spaces were still a work in progress. Nonetheless, the host was available for any requests or suggestions and proactively helped me with everything. I loved the kitchen and the free washing machine. Overall, I think it's the best property you can find for this price range (super cheap) in Scarborough or Markham. When booking, I suggest paying much attention to the type of room (private/shared) and the location (basement or not).

The bed and the bathroom were a little bit dirtier than expected. Some surfaces were a little bit dusty. Again, it can be normal when you are setting up a new property and having the first guests. Still, it wasn't on par with similar properties I visited in the zone. Nothing major but could be better. I would normally give a 9 or an 8.5, but considering the host's willingness to help I'm sure everything will be perfect by the time a new guest checks in.
