We stayed for 3 days at Hakonowa in the room with futons, which are super comfortable over the tatami floor. The staff at Box Burger, the restaurant downstairs, was super helpful during our check-in process. I really enjoyed that you could schedule the onsen time per room. My only suggestion would be that they provided an option to opt out breakfast so food don’t go to waste. My husband and I had a lovely time at the Inn and would stay again. It’s location is walking distance from bus stop and Hakone Yumoto station.

The onsen and the breakfast were great. Delicious soup and bread selection.
The walls are truly done with rice paper, I guess. If you are unlucky enough to have rude guests in the other room, as we found out, you will not be able to sleep.
