Good location and quiet area, but some important drawbacks
The main advantages are the location, free parking and the quiet neighbourhood. The property is within about a 10-minute walk of the metro, which was very convenient.
The bedroom and main bed were excellent and very comfortable. The bed in the living room is a fold-out sofa, which was comfortable enough for our child. I also had no issues with the Wi-Fi.
However, this is not really a villa (ELEGANTE VILLINO). It seems to be a converted space that was originally a gazebo or something similar. The roof is not properly insulated and is quite thin, so during the hot Roman summer it gets extremely warm inside. Unfortunately, even the two air conditioners could not cool the rooms sufficiently.
The living room floor also needs some repair. The windows do not offer much of a view โ you mainly see tree branches.
The kitchen area is quite small, although it has everything necessary. I did not check whether every appliance worked, but the stove was working properly.
Unfortunately, during our stay, the washing machine did not work properly on the programme for coloured clothes. I informed the owner about the issue, but instead of resolving it, the owner suggested that we look for the instruction manual, implying that perhaps I simply did not know how to use a modern washing machine.
While trying to check the machine and look for the manual, I had to bend down and look underneath the kitchen cabinets and behind the washing machine. Unfortunately, I discovered that these areas had clearly not been cleaned for a very long time, with quite a lot of accumulated dirt and dust.
In the end, the washing machine issue was not resolved, so I had to wash our clothes by hand โ just like in the days of the Roman Empire. ๐
The entrance door to the apartment also needs some repair. Even when it is closed, there is a noticeable gap between the door and the frame at the top, large enough for mosquitoes to get through.
One small but important detail: the actual address of the apartment is 16C Via Nepal, Eur, 00144 Rome, Italy, not 16 Via Nepal. This can be a little confusing when trying to find the property, especially when arriving for the first time
