The location was perfect, by tuktuk it is a 10-15 min drive to Ella, but walking its a lot closer as you can follow the train tracks (and you don’t need to climb).
The host was really friendly and helped carry our backpacks. When we suddenly wanted to have an early breakfast they helped us by quickly preparing everything, very accommodating!

We had a wonderful stay at secret view homestay. The room was clean and comfortable - an amazing view towards Ella rock from our balcony! The hosts were extremely friendly and provided a good breakfast with fresh fruits.
The location of the accommodation is great! You can be in the center of town and at all restaurants and shops within 10 minutes. The homestay is a little bit outside in a very quiet location away from all the parties, but you are very near the famous Ella train line, so you can comfortably walk along the tracks to get to the center.
If you have more luggage, it is a bit difficult because you have to walk several stairs steeply out to the house.

This was the best homestay throughout our trip in Sri Lanka, both regarding room state and facilities and the quality of the breakfast. There is a lot of attention to detail, as you can see from the smaller details in the room. The view from the balcony is spectacular and this is truly a nice spot far from the Westernized Ella city centre. There is a really nice restaurant just a few min walk with delicious home made food that the owner recommended to us for dinner.
The location per se is not easily accessible: the owner had to pick us up by tuk tuk and then there are a couple of steep set of stairs to get to the room.. hence why you get such a nice mountain view: totally worth the effort.
