The entire city is being rebuilt after the devastating earthquake and so is the neighborhood around the hotel. This is arguably the newest hotel in the city. It is not that far from the airport. Hotel staff very kind and welcoming and helpful with some English. Room had kitchenette which appeared dated but still brand new. Bed pretty comfortable. The breakfast area was very nice and the breakfast was lovely. It was easy to park Hotel staff recommended a local very casual home cooked Adiyaman style bufe, Hatun, a block away. It was excellent.
The room reeked of cigarette smoke so we asked for a different room which had less smell. (When we came up the elevator later that day we noticed the staff had the door of that previous room ajar, presumably to air it out.) Alienating feel to the rooms which have unused kitchens that lack equipment such as cutlery, dishes, utensils, etc.for cooking anything. No microwave, either. Just a shell. When I moved the kettle, there was alot of dust beneath it, as if it had not been cleaned for weeks.
