The property has a really grand feel to it with excellent entertainment areas. For big groups the property is excellent and works out much more cost effective than hotels.

A house of this size is not easy to come by in such a close in location to the city center. There is plenty of space for a large group, and the key boxes made coming and going easy. Unfortunately the pros were greatly outshadowed by the cons.
Unfortunately the house has been neglected and we ran into multiple issues throughout our stay that took time away from our vacation to resolve. We felt cheated, especially given we paid such inflated Fringe prices.
- There are only 2 showers for a house that sleeps up to 20 people. We knew that when we booked, but once we arrive one bathroom had no hot water — then the host "fixed" it, and it had no cold water and only scaldingly hot water. The only other bathroom had a gaping hole in the ceiling above the shower, through which water from the other bathroom leaked through.
- The wifi only worked in certain areas.
- The house has a washer but no drying racks or clotheslines — and none were provided when requested. I had to find a hardware store, buy clothesline, and spend the first morning of our vacation finding places around the house to string up clotheslines.
- One of the sofas is completely collapsed — you sink it a good foot when you sit., One of the beds sits at an angle, with the feet sloping down., Most of the mattresses sag or creak.
- Only one, thin pillow per bed.
- We had to request soap and hand towels in the bathrooms.
- One bedroom was missing window coverings entirely, with no privacy during the day and no way to block out the morning sun.
- Carpet is threadbare, and slides off one of the stairs completely, which was a slip hazard.
- Refrigerator door panel slams and sticks like it's going to fall off at any minute.
- If you're coffee drinkers, beware, there's only one small french press. I also checked with the host before hand to ask if we needed to bring coffee — he said it was provided. But our first morning we woke to find only tea. Not a fun surprise.
- No fans — it was over 27 degrees during our stay, with no way to cool off bedrooms on the attic level. I get that Scotland didn't used to be so hot, but global warming is here and things have changed.
