A great escape just outside Sydney , easy to access on public transport . Clean & comfortable bedroom with communal , clean showers just opposite . Great gas BBQ. Large & well equipped kitchen . Great setting & location to watch the wildlife , read a book in the hammock . Helpful manager & espresso coffee can be ordered in the morning
Would like easy more easy to access maps & suggested local walks from the hostel

We walked in from West Head road along the fire trail each morning and evening to get to and from the car , as we were driving to many of the beautiful walks in the National Park . Walking in for us wasn’t a concern at all. LOcation of YHA was excellent, Staff member Temily very friendly all facilities were clean , Fully recommend this YHA

Stunning location , good showers / toilets and a very well equipped kitchen . GAS BBQ is a bonus .
More written info about local walks would have been good . Also updated info re local matters eg the beach is inaccessible at the moment due to fallen trees , but no mention of this . In the kitchen it would be helpful if it was clearly indicated which foods are available for everyone to use . The canoes could do with back slings ( supports ) which would make them a lot more comfortable.

we took our own breakfast.Beautiful location and view of Pittwater. Very peaceful and quiet.
accurate description of steep walking track from jetty at Halls Wharf to Hostel.
It takes a young fit person 15 minutes but it took us 80 year olds 35 minutes and was steeper than I had anticipated. But we made it and were relieved. Tudor and Temily carried our luggage in a buggy which helped a lot.
