About this house rental

Newly restored to it's 1920 grandeur, The Park House and it's 2 story Carriage House sleeps 12 people in equitable bedrooms.. Easy walk to Balboa Park and San Diego's finest restaurants. Located in "Park West" between downtown and Hillcrest. As photos show, no expense spared!

The Park House/Carriage House combines the best of both worlds—location and amenities. The Park House is the entire ground floor of a 1920's duplex set in the center of San Diego's hippest neighborhood, adjacent to Balboa Park. Completely outfitted with laundry and designer kitchen with new equipment and amenities. The space boasts 2 mirror image bedrooms and beautifully tiled bath, gleaming hardwood floors and a working Batchelder tile fireplace.
Behind the Park House is The Carriage House, a free standing, 2 story building consisting of 2 apartments. The lower unit has 2 mirror image bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. The upper unit has 2 mirror image bedrooms with a bathroom in the hallway and a balcony off of the living room. The Carriage House has a private courtyard complete with fountain, barbecue and laundry room. Both apartments are beautifully furnished with designer kitchens with new equipment and amenities.
Bankers Hill is an uptown San Diego neighborhood bordered by Mission Hills and Hillcrest to the north, by Downtown to the south and Balboa Park to the east. It sits perched on the hillside over the San Diego bay and airport. It was named “Bankers Hill” because of its reputation for being home to the affluent. Many of the homes, designed by the likes of Irving Gill and other notable architects, date back to the late 1800s and some have been restored into bed-and-breakfast inns and office suites occupied by accountants and attorneys.
In deference to our neighbors, the property is never rented for parties. Absolutely no smoking on property.

Six of us stayed in the house for an extra long weekend. We loved it! Old California style architecture and furnishings, all is great condition. House had tons of amenities. We spent most of our time in the common courtyard enjoying the shade and great San Diego weather. Location in Bankers Hill was great - two coffee shops nearby along with great restaurants and bars.

These three separate apartments were perfect for three families to vacation together. All three were great! Some of the beds were very firm and some soft. So choose carefully. We had everything we needed and more in these well-decorated places. The courtyard was beautiful for the plant lovers. Perfect proximity to San Diego attractions and a nice quiet neighborhood with room to walk around.

Close proximity to downtown, quiet neighborhood with a lovely Terrance to spend time for an afternoon spray. Short walk to coffee shops and walking trails. Each unit was nicely layed out with plenty of space for all guest. Will stay again when I return to SD.

This location was perfect. Walk to Balboa Park, easy drive to everything. We booked the place and ended up having other family members come to town. At 7:30 on New Year’s Eve, the upstairs permanent resident came to complain about us being too loud. Okay, there were 9 adults talking and four seven year olds—we were not excessively loud (no music, no yelling). The kids had just done a little shrieking, but had already gone back to a pile of legos and were quiet. And it was New Year’s Eve. She was dressed as if going out—did not express being sick or some reason for her complaint. So be aware that she apparently lives above a VRBO and doesn’t like noise. There is a lot of construction noise during the day while a kitty corner lot is being developed. This affected day time parking. But it was quiet during the evening and parking was easy after five. Also be aware that three units are heavily decorated with antiques and breakables. If your kiddos are not well behaved, it would be difficult to avoid breakage.
