This house was perfect for our dogs. We stayed in January, so dogs were allowed on the beach off leash. The lagoon at the back of the house was beautiful at sunset and great for fishing. The bedrooms were comfortable. The island is pretty quiet in the winter, but we found plenty to do and really enjoyed Botany Bay. Rachel was an excellent host and quick to respond.

We had an awesome time with family! My husband and I with our three sons and daughter-in-law. Our youngest was on fall break from his first year at college and our middle son flew in from Buffalo, New York. It was great to be all together. Everyone had there own room and bathroom. Everything was neat and clean. Beds were very comfortable. Kitchen had everything you can possibly need. There was plenty of room for everyone. Screened in back porch was great for family meals outside. There was starter items available if needed as well as something for our fur babies. Our fur babies had a great time too. Host was great to work with. Will definitely be back. I think we found out new happy place!

One of the best, if not THE best house we have rented on Edisto Beach. Side area was great for pets, short walking distance to beach. The house was very clean and comfortable. Loved the Lagoon behind the house.

The Sharks Shack was a perfect choice for our 2023 Beach Family Vacation. The Shack accommodated 1 married couple, and 2 daughters with boyfriends. The dogs also had a great time. Great location On a quiet cul-de-sac 2 blocks from a nice beach. Large lot and fenced dog run. Enjoyed view of large lagoon from both large uncovered deck and screed room just off of dining room. Nice open floor plan. Parked under house with kayaks on top. We would rent again.
Saw Serpetariam; Edisto State Park Environmental center; and Botany bay; Kings and Flowers. Almost everyday saw sunrise on walk to Jeremy Inlet. Saw Turtle Patrol and hatched turtles. Lots to see at the Wednesday Farmers Market.
We did have a few restaurant meals but generally we cooked. We brought our kitchen cooking supplies, (oils, vinegars, herbs, etc). We found adequate cooking pots, pans, utensils, etc. after sorting out a clutter of duplicates. Also, we sharpened the knives and then home-made a knife block due the risk of cut injury reaching them laying disorganized in a drawer as we had found them. We had to use our own kitchen scissors.
General home furnishing and decorations, were beachy fun. Home furniture was comfortable. The twin beds were wobbly. Initially bath towels were damp. Thin and should be more to rotate in the laundry. HVAC stayed steady at 70 degrees. TV streaming and WIFI worked well.
We moved the trash cans to street since we didn't see the expected service moving them.

Nicely located, it is an older house but setup is good for beach house. Kitchen is pretty antiquated but everything works. Beds - hard, very hard, not that comfortable, that being said for the price and location it was hard to beat with rental prices as they are now. We've been vacationing at Edisto for 35 years and rentals continue to rise so this was a good rental for what it cost. Property Manager was very responsive which was great. Very nice week overall.

It was so relaxing to watch the birds in the lagoon on the back porch. And very convenient to stores and the beach! Most houses had noise from people and cars but this house being on a gravel side road made it very peaceful. Rachel was very quick to respond to questions. Our pups enjoyed their stay as well!

We enjoyed our stay on Edisto Island at this property. Easy walk to the beach and super close to the grocery store, gas station, and several excellent restaurants.
The layout of the home is very spacious, with plenty of privacy. The TV's were easy to use and operate, and the beds were quite comfortable. We greatly appreciated all the extra details to make this a pet-friendly home (fenced yard, poop bags in several places outside, gated porches).

We had a wedding on John’s Island so decided to make it a long weekend. We loved our first visit to Edisto! Definitely a remote place to enjoy our family! Loved the size of the house and the location is close to the beach, restaurants and grocery. Our favorite features were fishing in the lagoon in the backyard and renting a golf cart to get around. We really enjoyed our visit! Thanks!

There are 3 King size beds and 2 twin beds so it is designed perfectly for couples to have space. There is a fenced in side yard where you can take your dogs downstairs and let them run around. The back porch overlooks a beautiful view of the Tidal creek. The shops and restaurants are a walk or quick drive away.

Home was quick walk to beach. Loved the back deck by the lagoon. Our dog loved her first visit to the beach and we were all very comfortable in the house. Comfy beds and kitchen has good supplies for cooking meals.

Enjoyed having family together and house accommodates well with king beds and attached bathrooms. Love it’s location on gravel dead end so no traffic and close beach access! Screen porch is also enjoyable!

We have stayed at this property for years! Been going to this beach for 20 years with our family and staying at this property for many of those years. The owners have really improved the property and are obviously working to do more. Nicely equipped, but not extravagant. Kitchen needs some better equipment in the way of measuring cups and such, but plenty fine for your vacation. Very well done in the way of comfort and accomodations. The owner was super helpful and accomodating. Look forward to staying there for many years to come!

Quiet side street with easy walk across street to the beach. Great outdoor living spaces. Quick walk to restaurant/cafe and gift stores. Enough parking for guests and the fenced side yard was a bonus. Would definitely rent this house again.

Wonderful house!
We enjoyed our first time at Edisto and first Easter away from home. We had a relaxing stay. The house was perfectly located, a close walk to the beach. The backyard canal was perfect for crabbing. We caught several. The screened in porch with table was perfect for most of our meals, as dying Easter eggs took up a lot of the indoor table space. The kitchen had everything for cooking and baking which we did a lot of. The outdoor shower was perfect for rinsing sandy feet or feet with pluff mud from the creek while crabbing/fishing. We dyed Easter eggs and had a hunt in the yard. We visited Edisto Island United Methodist Church for Easter service and it was wonderful. We also loved visiting Botany Bay and the state Park. Edisto Island is a true retreat and this house is perfectly located for a vacation getaway. ❤️

Wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sharks Shack. The location is great - a very short walk to the beach. The house is spacious and well equipped, pretty much just as described and shown in the pictures. Communication with owner and check-in/check-out was a breeze. Would definitely recommend.

Bring your boots!
We LOVED the interior space of the house. The kitchen is exceptionally well stocked and the screened porch is heaven. Our only negatives were that 1. the side yard isn’t actually attached to the house, so you can’t just let the dog out in the middle of the night; you must leash up, go outside, and open the gate to the yard, and 2. the property floods substantially when it rains. As a result, I went to take the dog into the yard one night and found myself up to my calves in water in the driveway. Water was a few inches on our car tires and the yard itself was a marsh. We contacted the agent to ask if there was a pump and learned that this is normal for the property. Rachel advised me to buy boots at the Ace hardware on the island, and so I wore waders to take the dog out for the remaining rainy days. That worked but also meant we couldn’t walk from the house to the road without wading, which wasn’t ideal. Hopefully the ongoing renovations (which are pretty great) will include some remediation of the drainage problems. The house itself is lovely and, excepting the flooding, very well located. We enjoyed our stay.

Lovely Place and Location
We love coming to Edisto and this was a great house with the tidal creek behind it that my husband enjoyed fishing in. So much space inside the house (both in and out). Lots of room options even though it was only the 3 of us we do have a big family so its nice to know something like this is available if extended family come next time!
Don't forget to bring all linens- I forgot hand towels but thankfully we are local so my husband just brought some before he came down. We enjoyed our nightly walks and just steps away to the ocean. Can't wait to see what the new owners do to update this house even more!
