A lovely cottage in a very nice location, close to a scenic walk along the river. The town has a couple of small shops, pubs and the mini railway. The cottage was well maintained, clean, comfy and presented nicely. It was a bit bigger than I expected, which was a bonus. I didn't have much contact with the owner, but the information on getting into the cottage was useful and there was some interesting information in the cottage on the history of the town. There were also some games in the lounge, which we made use of. There were two different staircases, one leading to an ensuite double and another leading to the other two bedrooms and main bathroom. This suited us well as I stayed with my parents, so we each got our own separate upstairs area.
There were no major problems, but the following information might be useful for people thinking of staying at the property. The cottage is very old and, although it has been nicely refurbished, it has some steep steps (some without rails for part of the way) and changes in floor level, which will not be suitable for everyone. I therefore wouldn't recommend the cottage for young children or people with mobility difficulties. There is parking for one short car so if your car is longer, it will have to go on the road (but the road is fairly wide and is not busy). There's no outdoor space that comes with the property (other than the car parking space), but there is plenty of outdoor space to explore nearby. We had some issues with water coming in through the side door during heavy rain (due to the high ground level), so don't leave bags and shoes next to the door if rain is forecast.

Location was great, the local pubs were brilliant and the cottage was comfortable.

Well equipped in a good location
The place was literally buzzing with flies when we arrived and despite contacting the owners on the day of arrival, they didn't respond until the following day and basically just told us to buy some fly spray! We think there was maybe a dead bird in the chimney area as there was a terrible smell. To add insult to injury there were a couple of slugs on the kitchen floor!
