THIS IS A BRIDGELESS, BARRIER ISLAND, which greatly adds to the old Florida charm of your beach vacation! The only connection to the mainland is by boat. A pirate taxi boat service to the island can be ordered- we recommend booking early. Major fishing destination, diving, charters, etc.

In the fall of 2022, Hurricane Ian hit the island and caused a great deal of damage in fall of 2022. While the island has done major work, you will likely still see remnants like roofing shingles, nails etc off of the major pathways.
