About this cottage rental
Church Mews is a former library built from classic honey coloured Cotswold stone which sleeps four guests (no children aged two or under permitted), in two well-appointed bedrooms, with a family bathroom and cloakroom. On the ground floor you have a beautifully presented open-plan living area which has been elegantly styled to create a contemporary yet cosy home away from home. Character features such as high vaulted ceilings and painted wooden beams beautifully complement the modern design, and there is off-street parking readily available for one car in the private car park at the front of the property.

We stayed for a week just before the heatwave and actually it was quite cold and wet, but this place, despite having very high ceilings was actually very cosy and warm.
There are things to point out, which the owners already have, in that the bedrooms are snug and certainly the mezzanine level on the far side of the bed is problematic due to the roof, but we felt that both bedrooms felt airy enough. The downstairs bedroom does have a window to the side of the front door and the upstairs bedroom has a skylight, and because of the glass half-wall to the kitchen area feels very light and airy. The bed were very comfy too.
Very good sized shower and it was great to have the second toilet too. The parking is right outside, so couldn't be more convenient, there are a few steps up to the front door area. Most of the property is on the one level including the downstairs bedroom, but if you have mobility issues, you might not find the mezzanine bedroom too easy to get too, but you have the downstairs option, so is certainly manageable.
We felt Painswick itself was fabulous, enough very good places to eat within a few minutes walk. We found going to the left as you came out of the property down the steps, and through the passageway into the church grounds was always the best way to go. There is a great convenience store that basically has everything you might need. There is obviously lots to drive to in the surrounding area too, including a great antiques centre just down the road with yet again a fab place to eat, although it's only open Thurs-Mon.
We felt we would certainly stay here again and it was excellent value for money.

We had a brilliant stay at Church Mews--it was so good to come back to such a lovely spot after a full day of exploring the gorgeous surroundings. Church Mews had everything and more for a comfortable and charming "home away from home". We wanted for nothing (OK admittedly a few more coffee pods but there was a coffee press that we found and made use of). The loft and main floor bedroom was perfect for the two of us to have our "own" space and the open concept was super for relaxing, cooking, and dining. It was brilliant to have off-street parking. Church Mews was both comfortable and clean. We highly recommend that you book through Stay Cotswolds and stay at Church Mews when you travel to the Painswick area. Trust us--you won't regret it!

Well equipped accommodation in great location.
A few little "tweaks" would have made it perfect (attention to detail in cleaning etc), but definitely a great stay

Loved the property, beds were delightfully comfortable and property was super warm. Reasonably well equipped though was missing enough pods and some basics. Smelt a bit weird in some spaces but overall a lovely stay and looks exactly like the photos. The location was excellent too - so good to be right in the heart of it all.
