Perfection!

The breakfast was lovely, all handmade and served alfresco in the garden. The Villa is very spacious with a large pool and absolutely stunning gardens - remember to check out the night jasmine in the evenings by the property entrance. Beds are comfortable, staff are attentive without being intrusive. Komang does a wonderful job with Housekeeping & Cooking whilst Mede is the Host with the Most, a fabulous driver, full of suggestions and very flexible. We were very happy to be included in a village ceremony and enjoyed being in a family community, away from the more touristy areas of central Ubud. Birds, dragon flies, greenery, space, slightly cooler than central Ubud & the smell of the jungle combined with fast wifi, satellite TV & beautiful architecture & design. Impossible not to relax with such a wonderful family in a beautiful Villa. Top Secret - ask Mede about the fabulous newly finished Jungle House in the Trees!

There was no request to big or to small, which was always met promptly with a smile & a friendly face. Even assistance with my elderly mobility challenged mother was available - really nothing to complain about!

If you want to experience the cultural, authentic Bali, this is the place to stay!

We organised for the host to pick us up from our previous accommodation and the transportation fee was the most reasonable out of all the transportation arrangements we have encountered in Bali. Turned out that the host also runs the Ubud guide and driver service. We got to experience some amazing unique local and cultural experiences during our visits, including visiting a local nearby market, participating in a Balinese temple ceremony, trying out local snacks and food, and riding through the magnificent local rice fields. Jasan village is a friendly and peaceful village beside Sebatu and is about 15-20 minutes from Tegalallang by scooter. The breakfast included was super delicious and the host always checked on us to make sure that we were taken care of. It was easy to just spend a day in this gorgeous, traditional villa chilling as the space is so serene and zen.

Everything was perfect! We had the most fantastic and relaxing experience. If we had a bit more energy (as this was our last stop in Bali) we would have loved to organise some of their adventure tours such as cycling through the forest and others. Would definitely put that on our next trip!

A little paradise in Bali.

What a beautiful villa. And the design of the interior of this villa is very Balinese inspireret and the host is so sweet and accommodating. Mr Made is an abundance of local knowledge and he can arrange anything you might need. This stay was the absolute best of the places we have been staying for our month long vacation in Bali. Thank you so much Mr Made and Komang❤️

Exceptional

Wonderful stay in a beautiful and peaceful villa with a big private pool! Made and his lovely family made us feel very welcome. He organises tours through his village, the ricefields and the jungle that give you the real Balinese experience. He also invited us to a very special Hindu cremation ceremony that was unique to experience. Aside from that, they are always willing to help you with any request and can drive you around the island. Made's wife is also a great cook for breakfast and dinner! Our best stay ever! If you want to have the comforts of a private villa while also having a great traditional Balinese time, this is the place! You'll have no regrets :)

Wonderful hospitality and a slice of the real Bali

We have recently returned from a wonderful stay at Merta House. Merta House is a little oasis and provides a wonderful opportunity to experience the real Bali and village life outside the hustle and bustle of Ubud. Merta has all the amenities you might want and need, although we didn't get to take advantage of the lovely pool due to cool weather. The highlight our our stay at Merta however was the wonderful hospitality of Made and his family - Komang, Wayan, Vanessa and Gede. Nothing was too much trouble, from arranging travel, to cooking us wonderful home cooked authentic meals, babysitting, through to sharing with us the traditions of village life. We were also blessed to take some fantastic tours with Wayan who was so knowledgeable and caring and patient with our four year old daughter. One of the highlights of our time was a surprise family style dinner for my partner's birthday. Highly recommend if you want to get off the beaten track

Exceptional!!!

Everything was so much better than expected. The location was great to tour the region. The villa was oh so comfortable and clean. The beds wonderful. The bathrooms and kitchen excellent. The home cooked meals were delicious and the service 5 star. The pool and the privacy of the compound was also wonderful. It’s a sweet village and the locals are very friendly. The family who run the villa are wonderful and always ready to please and arrange a driver for any excursions. One of the nicest and best value accommodations I have stayed in in over 50 years of international travel.

We loved everything and could not find any faults whatsoever.

Exceptional

We had a fantastic stay at Merta House. The house is marvelous, the service excellent with superfriendly and helpful straff. The manager, Made, attended to our every need and helped made our stay filled with lovely experiences such as trekking through the villige riceterraces and also attending a ceremoni in the villige Temple. Would defenately make sure to visit again if we return to Bali in the future 👍😀.

Outstanding accomodation, friendly and very helpful village, peace and tranquility.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our hosts were exceptional, the villa 5 star, complete privacy when wanted and yet wonderful opportunities to engage with the local people of Jasan Village. The manager and villa was outstanding. So close to Ubud, yet far enough away to be the only tourists in the village. Next time we visit Bali, we will only stay here as being so central you can commute to everything Bali has to offer, then return to a beautiful villa and truely relax. The manager is also available to be your driver. Cannot recommend this place enough!
