About this house rental

This farmstead was added to the National Historic Register of Places about 15 years ago, after award-winning restoration work was done on all four remaining structures.

The property was part of a land grant given to Jonathan Clark for his Revoluntionary War service. Three of the remaining original buildings on the property date from 1847 - the Main house (with the addition of the ell at the rear of the house and the addition of weather boarding to just prior to 1850); the Smokehouse; and the Livestock barn. The Large Mule barn was built circa 1903 to accommodate a large mule trading business.

Bruce, the owner who has brought this place back to life and opened it up to visitors, loves this farmstead. It is not a slick vacation rental, it's peace and nature and history. It's an ideal place to breathe deeply and slow down.

We had an amazing experience at the farmhouse and enjoyed the opportunity to stay in such a historic structure. The decor truly made us feel like we had stepped back in time and we enjoyed the quirks of this restored home. The property presents many opportunities to explore, and our dog loved being able to roam off leash. The communication from Bella was outstanding and she made us feel truly at home. The location is remote, and there are not a lot of options in terms of restaurants or grocery stores so we absolutely recommend working with Chef Peg to create a menu for your stay. She cooked a wonderful meal for us at the farm, and we had leftovers through out the week. It was such a luxury not having to worry about cooking, and the food was just delicious!
