We had a splendid time at the River House over Thanksgiving. My family (my husband, myself, our 5 children as my mother) wanted to do something different this holiday. The RH was unique, had so many neat amenities. The cove is very private, except for the folks that came to do yard work that we didn’t expect and the occasional boat that glides through to park at the public dock next door, but other than that it has a very Gilligans island feel. My children frolicked o the “mini beach” and adored the paddle boats and kayak. Also, every bed was sooooo comfortable! We had some minor issues getting hot water in the upstairs showers but it eventually came, just took a bit. The Home was everything we were looking for and we feel grateful to have found it. Best wishes, Kelly and Jim, we hope we can visit again soon!

Pro's: This property is pretty secluded at the end of the road. If you are in fishing this is a pretty good spot. There is a dock that goes out and a platform. I have 4 kids that love to fish - I probably spent $500.00 on bait and tackle @ a really close tackle shop. We caught a Sting Ray, Cat Fish, Snapper, Puffers, etc. Baby puffers and crabs are all over the shoreline. Lot's of lizards running around. If you have kids it's safe and trapped in so they will have fun for hours. The beach fire pit and chairs were a nice touch - and the outdoor area is really relaxing - we didn't go to the beach one time that we were here. Con's: It's right next to a public or neighborhood marina... not that is was an extreme but all day long there are boats either being dropped in or going out and it's between a public dock and this home. Again for the most part all people were considerate at night there was a few random times ppl were over there swearing and yelling for 15 minutes at most. While we were staying @ the place the master bathroom door wouldn't close and the guest bathroom on the second floor water pressure wasn't working.... so that was a bummer but we didn't let that ruin our trip. The kitchen is a bit small for a family of 6 but we made do - the outdoor grill is a great feature you will need to grab charcoal but it's a nice grill to cook on but it's not gas and you'll need to make a trip to the store. At the end of the trip the host called me to address an issue with the blinds in one of the bedrooms, it apparently came of or was loose? honestly was shocked due to all the smaller issues we had while renting the place. The host was very available during the trip. We didn't know what day trash was or simple things like that - a leave behind would have been helpful as we could have taking the trash to the road if we would have known what day it comes. Overall this is a great place, and very unique - I'd highly recommend this place. Location is great, and it's a great place to relax.
