Originally constructed during Tybee's illustrious "golden era" between 1910 and 1939, this historic cottage was officially designated a national treasure in 2008. Indulge in the perfect blend of old-world elegance and modern comfort as you step inside the Dutton-Waller Cottage. The hardwood floors guide you through three distinct living areas, each designed to cater to your every mood. Whether you're seeking a cozy corner to curl up with a book or a spacious lounge to gather with loved ones, this cottage has it all. The vintage kitchen was once celebrated in the pages of Southern Living Magazine. This cottage kitchen is the heart of the home, offering plenty of space to prepare meals. Adjacent, the formal dining room sets the stage for memorable meals or take advantage of the large dining table to unplug with your travel companions for a board game that lasts late into the night. Retreat to the main floor's two inviting bedrooms, where plush queen beds adorned with luxury linens promise restful nights by the sea. A full bathroom with a tub only conveniently separates these two bedrooms. The original cottage staircase leads you to the upper level, where two additional bedrooms await, including an additional charming hideaway with a vintage VCR player, a library of VHS tapes, and plenty of books. The second full bathroom with a walk-in shower only is off of the lounge area. Both of the bedrooms on the top floor have queen beds. Convenience is key at Dutton-Waller Cottage. While staying at this home, you will be within walking distance of one of Tybee's most popular restaurants, “AJs,” on the back river and the back river fishing pier, and several blocks away from the beaches near the iconic Tybee pier and pavilion. And when you're ready to unwind, the sprawling covered area beneath the cottage provides the perfect setting for gatherings. Conveniently, there is also a full bathroom on this level, while the large outdoor shower and spacious yard offer opportunities for outdoor fun. Parking for two vehicles. Dogs are welcome. Love the charm!

Love the charm!

The house was very charming and the location was nice. The front porch was wonderful. The house does need some updates. The sinks in the bathrooms were rusty and not in good working order. The couches need updated and the dining room rug was very dirty. There was plenty of space to move around and the beds were comfortable.

First off, love the location and the home. All the lovely features of a turn of the century with plenty of space for my family of seven. There were quirks and it just made it fun. Overall it was a pleasurable stay!

Unplug right in to a families much loved and lived beach retreat. Equipped for all beach life fun if that involves good meals and with good friends. Place to plug in a rented golf cart. It the house is simple but real. Don't expect grand spaces but the linens are nice and if you looking for something in the kitchen it will be found somewhere. Do expect a lot of fun experiences going to fitting into life a Tybee old school.
