Situated in Lake Michigan Beach, this attractive house for $300 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. If you are looking for a charming weekend getaway on Lake Michigan, you can look no further! This two bedroom, 1.5 bath coach house is situated above the garage and is separate from the main house. There is a full sized kitchen, washer/dryer, living room, dining area, and outdoor balcony for grilling or relaxing. The beach is located only 3 houses down and is private access for the 8 houses on our block. This home is conveniently located 10 minutes away from downtown Saint Joseph restaurants, shopping, and Silver Beach.

The property was super cute and a great getaway for a family or small group of friends. Katie was great with communication. It was perfectly located between St. Joseph and South Haven with a 12-20 minute drive. The beach near the property was AMAZING! The walk down and back up may be difficult for those with mobility issues. We didn’t find a grocery store nearby so plan accordingly for a little bit of a drive. We look forward to staying again in the future!

We really enjoyed our stay at Katie's home. It is situated 10 minutes north of St. Joseph where we attended a wedding. The kitchen, dining area and living room was comfortable for us to each have a seat or two! The deck was awesome, especially on cool dark nights to enjoy the cool weather. The shrubs along the drive to the home were overgrown and could be cut back to avoid scratching guests vehicles. Katie notified me after checking in that the washing machine was out of order and would be repaired after our departure. The home was clean, comfortable, spacious, breezy and close to our events. I would recommend this home to others who want access to Lake Michigan, wineries, beaches, and park trails.

House was very clean and cozy. We had everything we needed. Loved the open floor plan. Close to restaurants and we enjoyed shopping downtown St. Joseph. The walk to the beach wasn’t quite what we expected but was ok for our group. Could see it being as issue for those taking young kids with a lot of belongings, elderly or less mobile people. Also the alley to the house is quite over grown and brushed up to the larger vehicles. Over all we truly enjoyed our time here. Checkin and communication with owner was great!

One of the most adorable places we have rented in MI to date. The coach house was surprisingly roomy and we loved the layout and decor. The kitchen was a joy to cook in and the beds were so comfortable. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Access was through an alley way. The overgrown brush was a slight hindrance to our truck. House was very clean, unfortunately we found a dead bat in the bathroom cupboard. Though there was compensation, it was unsettling. On our second night, a downed tree caused a power outage blocking the alley way resulting in the fact that we were not able to leave the apartment until the pole and line were repaired late the next morning. I managed to boil water for coffee and heat up some breakfast on the gas grill. Not fun. The location was good to get to St Joseph and Blackbird Waterhouse in Coloma (an awesome restaurant). The description of the walk and access to the lake is extremely vague. There were at least four sets of stairs and two rocky dirt paths plus a five step ladder to get down to the beach. Not only was it very steep, several loose steps were very dangerous. A benefit was that there is a parking pass provided to Silver Beach. Some compensation to avoid the “hike” to the Lake Michigan access from the apartment. The apartment itself was very nice and well stocked. Unfortunate the few “glitches” during our stay. Not the fault of the host. But inconvenient for us.

The pictures for this property do not do it justice. I loved the pictures but was leary about staying above a garage. I was pleasantly surprised the moment we stepped through the door. The wooden steps led us to a well thought out living space that was tastefully decorated. The many books of various interests was a nice touch. The entire place was clean (I've been to some that weren't). Almost everything you need is provided. It was peaceful spending time on the deck. We checked out the private beach. The beach was cool, but it was a hike going up and down the steps! I think I need to get in better shape! It was also a decent midpoint between St. Joe and South Haven. No complaints from my daughter and me!

When I say that this carriage house is a perfect getaway spot, I mean it. The house itself is so lovely. It is the perfect space for a small family, or a few friends. The kitchen was very well equipped, and we found everything we needed. The beach was a close walk, and was so lovely. Our 6-year-old son did not want to leave, and is already talking about when we can return to visit again.

As a family of five (children ages 6, 2, and infant), we really loved taking the short walk through the woods and down to the beautiful, private beach! The apartment had a large kitchen with everything we needed, comfortable beds, and cozy living room with bright windows. Communication and check-in was smooth with many provided details. Our only recommendation would be to bring a portable child gate (if you have little kids) for the stairs as they are hidden only by a curtain from the hallway. Thanks Katie for the great stay! We hope to return again soon.

Be sure you put Maple Ave (not St., Rd., Ln.) in your GPS!!! There are so many Maples in the area.

Katie was great with communication. I had issues with my VRBO login and was unable to access my account. The host was very accommodating and worked with me to make sure I had all the info. Perfect location to get to all the nearby towns. Very nice accommodations and we had everything we needed.

Great location, awesome exercise, great kitchen and bedrooms, nice little deck, (bring extra chairs if more than 2), and great walk down to beach. Host os very nice and responsive. Quick trip to st joe and beaches. Hopefully the jacuzzi tub is up and running. ;)

Everything was awesome! The stairs to the beach were a bit treacherous with some wobbly boards. But the beach itself was amazing and the house was so cozy and exactly what we needed for a weekend get away.

Short Anniversary Getaway
My husband and I wanted to end our vacation with a relaxing few days on Lake Michigan. There’s nothing better than Michigan lake summer days and nights! This did not disappoint.
We loved the cozy and private carriage house with outdoor balcony to take in the wonderful evenings. The home was immaculate and we were left wanting for nothing!!!

Charming Airy Bright Property
Lovely bright and airy property. One of the reasons we chose this property was the jacuzzi. Unfortunately, we were not told it was not working until the arrival email. We still loved the property. Just FYI the light in the shower is out. Balcony door did not stay closed securely. It would have been nice to have two more chairs on deck and extra pillows.

The master suite was spacious with a large master bath. The 2nd bedroom was small for 2 adults but perfect for small kids. The kitchen was clean and everything was provided to prepare and cook meals. The home was located outside of St Joes but close enough for dining and any activities that we wished to do.

Guest house getaway
My husband and I rented the guest house for a wine tour getaway from the city. We couldn't have been happier with our accommodations.
Katie was a wonderful host. She provided great recommendations for grocery shopping, wineries, and restaurants. She was kind to take a late text when we were trying to figure out the fireplace.
The guest house is quietly tucked away off a main road and a 5 minute walk from the beach. It is well appointed with all you could need in the kitchen, bath, and more.
We didn't find any cooking knives (and I didn't bother Katie). My husband and I worked in restaurants in a previous life. We always bring our knives and travel spices so this wasn't a big deal.
Helpful TIP: If you're coming from Chicago - stop at the Meijer just off I-94 on the way.
It was pouring and dark on our drive from Chicago, so we opted to cancel dinner reservations and cook. We picked up some gorgeous ribeyes, fingerling potatoes, ingredients for chimichurri, asparagus, etc...and whipped up dinner using the grill. Weber I might add...just awesome.
The two bedrooms are separated by the kitchen/living/dining room area that is of light and provides a picturesque view of the changing fall colors. We took full advantage of the gas fireplace which was a welcome luxury on a cold rainy days.
I don't have high expectations around sleep when we are traveling but the master bed was dreamy. Like being wrapped in a cloud, my husband and I slept very well.
Bathroom shower is a spa getaway. Rain-head shower, seating and toiletries were provided - which was a very nice touch.
Checkout was a breeze. I would highly recommend if you are looking for a weekend winery getaway or a longer stay with family in the summer. We would definitely return. :)

A success
This property was nice and homey. I appreciated the fact that it was not far from the lake . It is modern and good for a relaxing time or to go to write your first book. Its a great place. I look forward to staying in the main house. I simply cannot wait.

Our stay in Coloma was in a side apt to a large house in a quiet private neighborhood with a short walk to a private beach. The apt was beautifully furnished with a modern well equipped kitchen and all the comforts of home. Proximity to St.Joseph and South Haven enabled us to enjoy activities in both areas.
