Highlights include a reverse and open floor plan, luxurious finishes with a coastal vibe throughout, and 4 covered porches for relaxing and entertaining outside. Here, you're only a quick stroll from the grocery store, shops, restaurants (Salt 64, Pelican Seafood, and Back 2 Shuckers!), ice cream, and even miniature golf and the arcade! Plus, you're more than welcome to use the beach gear — like chairs and a wagon — for the short walk to the sandy shore. Upon walking into the great room and kitchen, one of the first things you'll notice is how bright and airy this space is! The vaulted ceilings and windows allow for an abundance of natural light. The main living room is beautifully decorated with a large flatscreen TV and modern, coastal-themed furniture. The expansive kitchen is well-equipped and boasts a large center island with bar seating, quartz countertops, a high-end gas range, stainless steel appliances, custom cabinetry, and all the supplies needed to prepare a meal for your group. This floor also has a half bathroom and a formal dining space with seating for 8. The first covered porch is off the kitchen and faces due West for gorgeous sunset views over the wetlands. The second covered deck is massive and features an outdoor dining table that seats up to 8 people. The vaulted ceilings continue into the master bedroom, where you will find a luxurious king bed, large flatscreen TV, and ensuite bathroom with double vanity and a spacious walk-in shower. Heading downstairs, you'll find all 4 of the guest bedrooms on the first floor. With 3 queen bedrooms, each with a flatscreen TV, this is the perfect home for multiple couples traveling together or a multi-generational family. Two of the queen bedrooms have an ensuite bathroom outfitted with modern fixtures and a tub/shower combination. The last queen bedroom shares a roomy Jack and Jill bathroom with the bunk bed bedroom (twin size bed on top, double size bed on the bottom). There are two covered porches that can be accessed from downstairs as well, one on the front with rocking chairs to enjoy your morning coffee, and the other with a private wooded view; both have stairs to the ground floor. Under the home, you'll find all the beach gear, a gas grill, and an outdoor shower to rinse off the sand after a long day at the beach. The property was beautiful and the house was perfect for family use. Everyone had a wonderful time. Very close to the beach in about a 3-5 minute walk. Availability to other locations (Myrtle Beach, Bald Island, Fort Fisher, Southport) is easy and makes for a great day trip or less. The house feels new and was very clean. The realty company managing the property was great, kept us informed daily, and attentive to all our needs.

Wonderful house and very close to the ocean. House was spotlessly clean and very well appointed. We would definitely stay again.

Overall, our stay at Carolina In My Mind was wonderful! The house was clean (aside from a faint smell of smoke when we first arrived which might have been from the past owners). The decor was tasteful, the beds were super comfortable and everything was new and clean. The kitchen was well-stocked with service ware, cups, plates, etc and there were even some supplies left from past guests (EVOO, salt, pepper, sugar) always a nice perk! There was plenty of room for everyone and the reverse floorplan was very convenient. The outdoor shower wasn't working when we arrived but they sent someone right away and it was fixed by the end of the day. We had a few issues throughout the week but the managers were responsive and helpful. The beach is about 400 steps so we were out and back all day long. We had our beach wagon stolen at the beach when we left it by the bike rack (I would suggest keeping everything at your tent) which was unfortunate, but there was one at the house we were able to use. They also had a few beach chairs which we didn't use. They provided a 'started pack' of supplies and there were some items like dish soap and laundry detergent from past guests. The food lion is a 5-minute walk and there is an adorable putt-putt right up the street. Publix is a quick drive and there are plenty of restaurants close by. The beach wasn't overcrowded either. I've stayed at a lot of beach rentals and this one checked all of the boxes. I would definitely stay here again.

Nicely renovated home with poor cleanliness
Nicely renovated home with poor cleanliness
Vacation was enjoyable in this house after we got over the cleanliness issue(s). Arrived for check in at 4:00PM as we were told, went inside and cleaning crew had not cleaned from previous occupant. Within a couple minutes, multiple cleaning crew pulled in and were there till 5:30PM. As they left, they apologized for the wait, and commented that "someone had a cat and there was hair everywhere". My family ended up cleaning behind the 'cleaning crew"; we vacuumed and wiped down everything right away. We had to run the dishwasher because there were dirty dishes in there, and we found coffee grounds in one of the "clean" cups in the cabinet, along with a dirty salad bowl in the cabinet. Finally, it was very obvious that the bedding had not been washed; multiple stains on the wrinkled comforters in multiple bedrooms, and hairs on pillowcases. We removed the dirty bedding and bought and used our own, including pillows. We did let the rental company know about the bedding issues and the lady was apologetic and had no idea that we came into a dirty house. She said that the cleaning should have been done by 3:30PM before our check-in, and she offered to reimburse us for the bedding if I provide a receipt. Since saving a receipt during all that was not high on my list, I guess I'll have to eat that expense. But all in all, once the house was clean, it was a nice place to stay. However, arriving to a dirty house and having to make a trip to the store for bedding right after arrival was unacceptable and enough to keep us from staying here again.
