Wonderful location with good access to a great beach. The pool was very nice. The house needs some TLC, but met our needs.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed at this home a few times over the years and there has not been one change. The Mattresses are old and uncomfortable. The TV's in the bedrooms do not work. The furniture is over 10 plus yrs old. The only reason to stay their is for the beach. The kitchen amenities are lacking as well. During our stay the HVAC stopped cooling, but at least they were able to add coolant to get it working again. We came back from the beach and someone was working on the pool so not able to use it. Just think twice before renting this home. The location is the only reason to rent it.

Let me preface by saying my comments by saying I own a rental property in north Georgia mountains so I can look at this from both sides as a renter and someone who rents their property. We booked this property in March and unfortunately there were no reviews (red flags). Ok, maybe a new property to the site. Pros: Quiet, nice low traffic area of island Close beach access Pool Deck has ocean views Cons: If they put some nominal money into this place they could garner repeat renters and probably charge more. Specifically, the 3 things that need the most details are: 1) Beds-really really bad. Big sags in mattresses. Probably haven’t been replaced in 15 + years. Nothing leaves a bad taste in a renters mouth than a horrible night sleep while on vacation. Please spend the 1-2K to do this. 2) carpeting in bedrooms (just gross and dirty). I walked in shoes at all times. Could replace easily with tile. 3) sofas in living room. Cloth and stained. We throw blankets atop it but honestly, buy something off a marketplace. The home could use other updating but this isn’t a deal breaker. Dirty sofas /carpet and horrible beds are a deal breaker. We came home a night early as we wanted to sleep. Hope this helps the owner with some constructive feedback and also other potential renters.

LR upholstered furniture is filthy, many light bulbs were burned out throughout, basic pots and pans were lacking, and all the mattresses need to be replaced. If you really expect 8 guests, the paper and soap supplies provided are woefully inadequate. The location is great and the elevator helps for bringing supplies up and down. With all the stairs, don't recommend this property for elderly guests. At $2000 per week, all this might have been okay, but at $3500 per week (our fee), it's inexcusable.

And roaches) the kitchen was well stocked. The bedrooms were lacking dressers to put your clothes and the kids closet was packed full of junk so you couldn’t use it if you wanted to. The living room furniture has definitely seen better days it’s very stained we covered it with blankets we found before letting the kids on it. Location to the beach was great being a row back you weren’t far at all from the public boardwalk.

The Plantation is gated so you do need to stop at guard shack whenever you enter, only those on your rental list will be permitted. There are two pools, tennis courts and a fitness center. Our code did not work so we didn’t use them, Freebird has a pool and we pretty much stayed at the beach. There are great walking paths and trails, we had bikes, but also walked a few. The house is spacious, the elevator makes getting to the kitchen/living area a breeze (third floor). The walk to beach is short, boardwalk at end of culd de sac, great location. There were a few small boogie boards (they were cracked but worked) and a few pool floaties. Kitchen is fairly well stocked, I would recommend bringing plastic cups/plates. Updates and some minor repairs could be done (window blinds dont all work, kitchen windows have screens but dont stay open, some drywall cracks/holes...nothing major). For the price we paid I was completely satisfied with our stay. There are some massive homes in this area, everything is beautiful. The no see ums were out so bring bug spray! We normally stay at Cape San Blas, decided to try out a new spot, glad we did!

The couches are stained up badly. The master shower has a lot of black mold. Most of the blinds are broke. Ac on bedroom floor wasn’t blowing cold. Was told AC company would come out to look at it never showed The filter was covered in dust, when I took it out it finally started working. Couldn’t get a air flow

The problems in earlier reviews seem to have been addressed, furniture has been cleaned and kitchen was adequately equipped. Location is great. The layout is ok. Nice to have enclosed pool. Bed mattresses and living room furniture could be replaced. Wood Floors need deep cleaning/mopping.

House needs attention. Mold in MR bedroom shower ceiling. ( Bad) Blinds in the house were broken. House smelled musty when we arrived. I’ve used VRBO many times and this was disappointing.
